Greetings. I am about to start a force of Elysian Drop Troopers, to represent the forces of the Arkasian 117th Молния бегунов (Lightning Runners, these guys are Russian snow Elysians). My question is thus: what would be the best way to start such a force? I'm very much the air cavalry and melta veterans type of Commander, and I already own a Valkyrie Vendetta, as well as several normal 'Cadian' Guardsmen (although they're part of my mechanised army, the Viklund Sturmstreiken) and a snowy Lord Commissar. Should I go CCS, or maybe some Troopers and the weapons kit, or maybe IA3 for the rules?
You tell me.

Entirely depends on what you want mate, melta drop veterans mounted in fliers with CCS and lord commies are definitely doable in the standard dex.
If you want to go for the more specialised drop troops with the cool toys, I'd go for the IA books. If you do get this route, I'd recommend the book first, then the models, so that you can write a list you're happy with before you throw your money into models that don't fit.

I already know I'm a drop trooper kind of guy, because every single army I ever do has an air cav list or two. Especially my Guard. And dedicated transport Valkyries with Tauroses and Drop Sentinels is very much my thing.

Okay, I have decided that IA3 Vol.II is the first thing I shall acquire.
