Normally in two weeks i'll be hosting my first 6th edition game of apocalypse. it'll be a variation of the attacker-defender scenario, playing on the length of the board with a combined space marine (space marines+blood angels) guarding a ruined fortress against a traitor force consisting of chaos space marines and my imperial guard(since we needed more points on the evil side).
The game will be 12000 pts'ish and i'll include my entire imperial guard collection featuring:
-6 leman russes of various configurations
-2 manticore
-a magnetised shadowsword that can become any configuration i want, which one should i pick?
-6 chimeras+vets etc
-120ish guardmen
-10 ish heavy weapon squads
-psimari1s psycher+10 sanctioned psychers
-some rough riders
-1 hellhound
-1 devildog
-1 medusa
-1 colossus
-2 vendettas
-1 thunderbolt (bombs seem the best idea, since i'll only face 1 flyer)
-3x sabre platform
-2x scout sentinels
-1x bastion
-2x aegis defense line
-1 skyshield landing platform
I'll be backed up by a black legion chaos space marine force (details unknown) and end up facing an entire ultramarine company and 40'ish assault marines.
Most likely the BA player will be deepstriking right amidst my artillery so now i'm wondering what tactics i should use to counter that? does anyone know any fancy apoc tricks? I knew in the previous editions you coudl make deepstrikers land somewhere else but haven't gotten so far in the rulebook yet.
anyway, any ideas would be appreciated,given the scale of the battle i might be able to try them all! ;p
