Haha, love it. They've said their never implementing weapons so it's a make your own job And I've made many with hundreds of parts which never work, the best idea is little and often with docking parts. Give huge fuel tanks small thrusters and docking ports then string them together in space this is my intention.

Well, Kerbal Space Program decided to fix my heavy lift rocket design for me by not being backwards-compatible with my save file.
That said, my new-and-improved Kerbal Space Program has succeeded in getting a space station core into orbit on the first try with a much smaller and more stable heavy lift rocket. I almost lost Bill Kerman as he went EVA to go from the space tug to the station (since named "Kerman Station."), but managed to get him back with some tricky maneuvering. My second module (carrying fuel and RCS) is in a stable orbit around Kerbin after numerous simulations proved that there were some issues that needed to be resolved with the space station design. Anyway, now I get to figure out docking.
Also, I haven't lost anyone yet. Pro tip: Don't hire the stupid kerbals until you need them to do things on other worlds. Note to self: Look into the Kethane plugin for resource mining on the Mun and other locations of interest.

Yay! I've figured out how to use ladders, and LandDerpy 2 was able to go out and rescue stranded pilots. I now have to build a prototype for AquaDerpy to do sea retrievals.
Also, I found this video about warfare in Kerbal:

There's another video by the same author where he built a battle cruiser and used it to waste a bunch of attacking fighters, then closed to almost point blank and blew the living daylights out of another carrier in the same class of The Spirit of Kerbin that had been built/captured by the enemy. It was most impressive.

I got back into Kerbal today, only played about an hour but it got my interest back. And now I've looked into how to do things properly so I will post some updates next week, girlfriend permitting of course

Oh, and regarding actual weapons... People are designing them. I may or may not have downloaded add-ons for a zappy, killy laser system, a laser guidance/targeting system, and laser guided missiles.
<.< >.>
Search the Spaceport "store" for the term "Lazor" and see what comes back.

I find mods ruin games, once you have them doing normal things seems bland. What I do now is play a game till it gets boring then get mods, improves life span

Nasa don't use laser guided missiles to blow up other space stations so neither shall I would be different if it was multiplayer

Sorry for double post but its important infomation to pass on.
Today, the SSP (Soap Space Program) has recived funding to start the quest for space exploration and colonisation. Designs and test flights will be on going from now on!

Finally figured out how ladders work, and how to activate stranded crew. Rover LandDerpy-2 performed a successful rescue mission with about a 60 km round trip to pick up four stranded pilots. Between the quad nuclear reactors and all of the solar panels, the rover only consumed about a quarter of its available electrical power on the outbound portion of the journey, which was done at night. On the return leg the sun came up, and the rover returned to the spaceport with its battery system fully charged. It was literally generating more power than it could consume (good thing there's currently no way that the batteries can be overloaded). I achieved a top speed of close to 30 m/s on a downhill portion of the journey, but average speed was closer to 12 m/s. I'm still trying to figure out how to make AquaDerpy to do sea rescues. I saw on YouTube someone who had made a tilt-rotor aircraft to fly out and do vertical landings and takeoffs from water, but I'm having not luck finding the rotor and gimbal part add-ons so far...

Wait, are you picking these pilots up on Kermin (or whatever the home planet is called)?
Because you can just press the "recover" button at the space center.

However, I am having fun on my rescue missions, plus it's good training for rover-ating when I finally get my butt onto the Mun and other planets.

Oh, I'm not saying you shouldn't keep manufacturing these nuclear monstrosities. I'm just pointing out an alternative for later when you get bored of scooping them up after littering them across the planet's surface.

Indeed! The only rocket I have figured out how to use is a simple "up / down" rocket... I have figured out how to jettison parts of the rocket mid flight and making sure secondery rockets fire. And also how to get my heroes back down to the planets surface. I find the game a little hard to work out what goes with what. For example what fuel tank goes with what engine as they is a lot to read in each description of an item. Do you just connect the two (fuel tank and thruster) and they automatically work together? So theoretically I could have five fuel tanks to one rocket (and probably overheat and blow up)? One other question. I saw you can have a cupelling point? To expand your craft in all directions. Is it posable to rotate parts to fit, or do you just connect more of the cupelling parts? I hope you know what I mean. Thanks. SSP Dictator

Is it posable to rotate parts to fit, or do you just connect more of the cupelling parts? I hope you know what I mean. Thanks. SSP Dictator I do know that rocket engines will only work with fuel tank types that have both liquid fuel and an oxidizer supply, but won't work with the type of fuel tank that only has liquid fuel--those are for jet engines only. Jet engines will work with both types, but won't consume oxidizer in the case of that type of tank being used. Also, you don't have to directly connect engines to the fuel tanks--most fuselages and wings will route fuel, although decoupling rings won't, and you'll have to run a fuel pipe from an area that can flow fuel to the engine... You can rotate parts: Holding the shift key and then the directional keys (a, d; q, e; w, s) will rotate parts by 5 degrees, or if you hold the control key it will rotate the part by 90 degrees. Play around with them though because it takes some getting used to depending on how the camera is oriented towards the part when you rotate it as to how the part will rotate...

Yeah moving parts is fiddly, you don't need to hold ctrl, just press q w e a s d. Don't forget about size adapters if your after different parts and designs, also it sounds like you haven't discovered there's two pages to a lot of the parts sections A tip for you and other newer starters, the snap button is your friend for keeping craft symmetrical. It's the cycle under all the parts. Also watch a basic tutorial or two on YouTube and definitely read the 'getting to the mun' tutorial on the wiki site.
