I thought it was a little weird when I noticed on the GW site they had updated the 40k range on the official site it read sororitas... At least something tickled the back of my mind that it had changed even if it hadn't actually changed. I now see thisAnd I know some people here will be interested. In fact I'm a little surprised I haven't already seen a thread created. Of course apologies if I'm mistaken and someone points me elsewhere.

I'm going to spare everyone me getting angry about this, mostly because a fair few of you already know my feelings on the matter.
Short version is this is a load of utter horse dung designed to boost sales of their digital codecies. Odds are they'll be taking the (terrible) WD codex, updating it for the current rules set, and maybe putting a little extra lipstick on the turd to try and make it look like something new. Meanwhile it still costs $64 to buy a full Sisters troop choice (without any special or heavy weapons), and you'll have little to no customization options for the terrible minis.
Someone call me when they have a proper codex update and release, with a real, playable codex, interesting fluff, and a decent range of plastic models. Anything else is just GW trying to squeeze blood from a turnip with a Fleur de Lys on it.

Well I'm sure you will appreciate I didn't mean to annoy anyone.
I've had a bit more of a read on the black library post and they have almost confirmed at least one of your peeves which is that it be built upon the WD codex which I'm not privee to. It will be a shame for me if this ends up bad because while I'm not clued up on the past editions this was/is my only real chance to try to involve the other half a little bit, as she has already somewhat stereotypically expressed interest in a sisters army

Oh, I'm not annoyed at you. I apologize if it seemed that way. GW is the sole target of my wrath in this. Also, I may be able to hook you up with a copy of the WD codex that came out a while back, if you want. God that smiley is creepy

While it doesn't solve the single biggest problem (the models), the Army List itself is getting at least some improvements. From the preview page, the minimum size for a Troops Sisters Squad is now 5 (with 2 Specials) instead of 10, you aren't required to upgrade the Superior, and they can take an Immolator as a Dedicated Transport.

Yea, thats approximately $80 usd. Mind you, a 10 man plastic box of cadians is $29 usd and the metal sets (like vostroyans, mordians, or valhallans) are $35 usd. And also like optimat, my other half only expressed a mild interest in SOB.

Looks like a BSS with 10 sisters and two melta will be the same cost as before, if I'm lucky I won't have to revamp my whole planned list before I get to play with it.

I'm interested to see what is going on with this, as I do have a bunch of metal Sisters minis sitting around, but not interested enough to shell out for the e-book unless there is significant additional content in the background and/or fluff that might justify my getting a hard copy at some point--if one is released before a full codex is produced...

Why is this thread still happening? It got me all excited, only to let me down hard.
