A lack of crotch flags would offend the machine spirits... I am thinking that the main benefit of these units is the strength D combat weapon, giving a counter assault force to the typical Guard army. I may pick one up at some point, but I don't want to do it until I have had a good look through the rumoured new codex. I've got years to get a Knight, no use rushing out and getting one straight away. Also, I have tanks to paint (the command vanquisher is coming along at last!).

Yes. Crotch flags make everything more manly and Imperial-y. Gotta have the crotch flag. I'm also psyched about the supposed Mechanicus army as well. Finally all of those old metal Adeptus Mechanicum minis I got through the Skullz program years ago may get to see use!

You could stick a tech-priest next to the knight, to repair 'weapon destroyed' results.

2.bp.blogspot.com/-FNOnTI_XfrM/Uv6wNk7um9I/AAAAAAAAcok/aZMU-m-qOR0/s1600/knight-blue.jpgI'm not convinced. I do like the prospect of a budget titan and this beastie seems to cover that (I'm guessing it'll be around £70 or so) To me, the head is too small, the gun shield is too large, the legs need to be bigger and longer and the torso is a bit too smooth and bulky for my tastes. oh, and the chainsaw looks like it would be useless in close combat with anything other than a tank or building. However... I imagine when I see the real thing I'll love it! I think my issues come from the fact I prefer the Lucius design Warhound over the Mars Torso, though prefer the larger looking legs on the mars 'hound to the thinner ones on the lucius. despite all my complaints, its a cool looking Knight and features a lot of design elements of the original, and has that archaic steam tech thing that is very mechanicus. (also looks a lot like the warmachine models - but hey) inane rant over. (sorry - sleep dep)

Crotch flags make it difficult to walk over small sheds, getting tangled in the wreckage.

I for one think they've done a good job of capturing the essence of the Epic Knight (I've got a couple of them floating around), but have blinged it up to modern standards that we'd expect from a 40K kit.

You could stick a tech-priest next to the knight, to repair 'weapon destroyed' results. It's a super-heavy, the only result to do anything more than remove a hull point is the "explodes" result, and that just removes d3.

I'm excited about these. I still haven't done my resin one yet. I think that I'll get one of these and do both

Just hull points then Actually its not bad if they can survive the explosions. Iron hands MoF would be 2+ 6++ unless you gave them the mega-stormshield from the armoury.

Yes, apparently we'll be seeing a Knights codex and an Adeptus Mechanicus codex from the rumors I've seen. I'm wondering if the Knights are going to be folded into the AM stuff, but available for use by any Imperial force?

After the inquisition book none of this seems very far fetched.
I am still waiting on my assassin book so I can high-five a Vindicare with Marbo and not need Grey Knights.

Hmm... Going back an looking at the BoLS rumors, it would appear that Knights are going to be in a codex with Adeptus Mechanicus--not two separate books. I shall not be complaining if this is true.

I shall not be complaining if this is true. does seem to agree with the symbol from the new vid. Mechanicus is cool, as long as GWS dont make em too space mariney at least these guys should and could get new technology, their the ones who discover and build it after all.

capital imperialis next then! That would be pretty epic. Although, I have seen some photos of pretty awesome home-built ones that people have made using Baneblade chassis bits and parts from 40K Imperial terrain kits, along with various gubbins. Having official rules for one would be neat, though...

I think you could have a game where the table WAS the Capitol Imperialis.. either boarding party or fighting on its topmost deck.
They're supposed to be equal to a titan in height... 50 meters or so.
That'd be a game I'd like to play!
Having seen the silhouette I can see that the Knight shares a lot with the Forgeworld Mechanicus stuff.. so that's pretty cool. Still unsure about it but excited about its potential...
