Hard choice, their all good but it was really close with two or three of them.
When this is over I need to know the name of the orange/red used in entry A... my vallejo orange is rubbish.

Voted. I can't believe people can paint minis to this standard in such short time. Respect! Respect also for all those who entered, this was probably most fun but most difficult too. Good job!

Also voted, this dog is just too cute. Will need to know from which range is this mini. Its from Olley's Armies. The sculptor, Bob Olley, made loads of the early citadel squats and imperial army troopers, for Citadel in the early 80s. Olleys Armies

I remember that site coming up before, some good minis but god knows where they'd fit in

The scrunts/ squats could be 'counts as' guardsmen and the dachshunds could be objectives. I actually got the dachshund chariot but haven't got around to assembling/ painting it yet. You have to keep watching the site as sometimes he sells off his casts to other miniature manufacturers. Like his Space Ogres, which were bought by Maxmini, I think.

I have a Saus Hound that I use as an objective. One game we had it running around the board using the scatter dice I think that ++++censored+++ did a great job with it. It's detailed backside make me smirk a lot

It was pretty difficult choosing; congratulations to all the entrants. Especially considering the time limit several entries are beyond awesome.

Congratulations to Silver Surfer and his landslide victory! You'll get your no expenses spared banner at some point in the near distant future!
And thanks to all the other stiff competition!
GG will be taking a break over the festive period, and will begin early in 2014! So if you get any awesome slabs of hobby from loved ones, have fun assembling, and perhaps wait a few weeks before I announce the next competition!

Thanks for your votes. Imo the wiener hound should have win. A great mini, fully finished without any imperfection. Congratulations to everyone who entered the competition. Not that easy even if it was a lot of fun to paint during this hour. I need now to finish my cadian version of Al Rahem and correct the fatigues and the base.

Imo the wiener hound should have win. A great mini, fully finished without any imperfection. Thank you, that's very kind! Your mini was great too! I'd love to learn how you did it? It looks to me like you used an aggressive employment of wash over the white primer to achieve the base color on the fatigues and pouches? If so, that's a great technique!

congratulations to all! and yay! my self made earthshaker carriage got a vote, and that for my first participation in a GG challenge!! i've learned a couple of things over this challenge, most of all that 1 hour is incredibly little time to paint a miniature! Despite that this challenge really got me motivated to paint again and as a result i had spent the said of said evening on finishing my earthshaker. guess i will have no other option that to participate in future challenges too!

To answer to "technical" asks : - I started on a white primer then put a thin watered layer of "beige" (sorry can't remember those names from the citadel range sometimes) and wash it simply with agrax. I use the wash brush and apply stronger at the bottom and lighter to the top. - the orange of the power combat knife is a base of watered mechrite red lightly drybrushed with blazing orange (if I remember well).
If I should advise someone who would like to paint fast, I would say paint with watered down paints. The application of the paint is then so much easier and can even pre-shade (look at the green grenades or the helmet for example, the helmet received then a second layer of less watered green).
