Howdy y'all! Attached you'll find the first teaser-chunk of a series of Imperial Guard short-stories. This WIP compilation of writing details the story of a distant Imperial Planet laid-siege by heretical forces for a 4-year guerrilla war. It is told from the perspective of a (semi-sentient) propaganda editing servitor whose job it is to censure inspirational-writing submissions. Salty dialogue, tactical action sequences, an overwhelmed editor-servo, and the temptation of corrupting chaos versus the betrayal of an uncaring Imperium set the stage for these tales from the Grim Darkness of the 41st Millennium. PDF for the first part: The Siege of Carcatha, Part 1I'm posting for enjoyment, but also for feedback. As consumers of the Warhammer 40k franchise, I want to know what parts of this story drew you in, what parts lost your interest, and what generally worked or didn't-work for you! Opinions of all kinds are welcome! Thank you guys, -Gunny EDIT: It's also worth noting that this first short story has been posted on the forums before a LONG while ago. The version posted here has been edited and cut down several times since then. But, disclosure, etc.
