Came up in my last game. We both agreed that a transported unit is not limited to firing at the same target as the transport but do they fire at the same time?

Came up in my last game. We both agreed that a transported unit is not limited to firing at the same target as the transport but do they fire at the same time? If they're treated as an independent unit for shooting, I think that would extend to letting them fire at a different point in the turn. Then again, it's been a long time since I read a 6th Ed rulebook, so, you know, grain of salt.

As far as I can tell there isn't anything in the rulebook that says they fire simultaneously but we hand waved it at the time since it was obviously going to bother my opponent.

As a general rule in the tournament scene here, I've found that the unit AND the tank fire at the same time BUT can choose separate targets
The only exception I've found is that you can order a CCS inside a chimera to fire, then because of the way orders work, you have to can order a different unit, then return to the Chimera afterwards
