If I got one I'd be tempted to leave off the wings altogether, just get more engines strapped to it. If it's going to look like a flying brick, I'm going to go all out. Have you been playing Kerbal Space Program?

I couldn't figure out how to make things go, so I decided to play something more intuitive, like Dwarf Fortress.

Just got the latest WD with the rules for the Stormfang (in addition to grabbing a copy of Stormclaw), and it just hit me... The Stormfang is essentially the same thing as the Shark Assault Boat in Battlefleet Gothic, but adapted for use by the Space Wolves. Interestingly, it sits far lower on the flying stem than other flyers, essentially maneuvering NOE like a giant skimmer, so the Space Wolves don't really consider it to be flying--it's more of a skimmer boat.
Edit:
Oh, and the Stormfang is the gunboat variant (only can transport 6 models), while the Stormwolf is the variant that transports 16 models.

Lol, really? Nothing will ever compare in dreadfulness. Star Fighter dreadful ?. Maybe not the best looking aircraft built but it looks fast and deadly. The aircrews wanted a simple fast jet and that's what they got, a jet engine with wings bolted to it. The Brits went one better and stacked two jets on top of each other then bolted the wings on and came up with this- I used to watch these thing take off from Warton Aerodrome

I think RT's referring to the fact that the Starfighter had the same turning radius as a thrown brick, and it's horrendous safety record with Wurst Germany and Canada (hence the nickname of "Lawn Dart"). As the saying went, the fastest way to get your own Starfighter was to buy a plot of land in Germany and wait for one to crash in to it.

I saw this travesty in an email the other day. I wondered if it was going to be a fancy SW Ceastus (or whatever you Brits want to do with your diphthongs that you clearly have no idea how to use).
I am mistaken. It's a crime against humanity and the 40K gamer community. We should begin the uproar process. Prepare the munitions.

Surely its cheaper just to buy a brick and stick it on to a flying base. I mean you can usually find bricks at builders yards and once you've defeated enough labourers in hand to hand combat, you can usually lay claim to their bricks (according to the Danelaw), then buying a flying base isn't all that much.
Hmm. To proxy or not to proxy.
Helfrost cannons.. I was expecting something that shoots living wolves out

TBH the more I look at the Stormwolf (the transport boat) the more this model is growing on me (except for the $81 price tag)... It definitely is the least derpy of all the SM plastic kit flyers to date (the Sphess Guppy is one of the reasons why I've not touched my Blood Angels in forever). If I get one, though, I won't be sticking the wolf pelts, etc. on it, as that's derp to the extreme, and keeping those bits in my bits-box will allow me to bling some Rhino chassis--they'd look good on Predators, methinks.
I'd probably pass on building it as the Stormfang (gunboat) though...

You should deck the interior out with wolf pelts and wolfskin seats & suspicious furry dice hanging off the auspex unit.

Furry dice with no dots are just hairy balls. Dave's warboss already took all of those for his scrotem pole.

I like how there are rules for the "Sweetmeats," which are painstakingly prepared deep-fried progenum glands from space marines in one of the Black Crusade books. It's a Slaanesh thing. Because of course it is.

I'm going to go the other way, and actually say I don't mind it!
Although the silly wolf pelts all over it seem a bit odd!
The Stormfang looks the business here, along with massed drop pods its going to offer brutal AA and Air to Ground attack options
I can't imagine any sane person would actually load 16 models into the Stormwolf though!

I can't imagine any sane person would actually load 16 models into the Stormwolf though! As an assualt vehicle I could see loading it up with say 15 blood claws with a wolf guard battle leader, or 8 terminators. It's faster than a land raider and while it's flying probably harder to kill.

Because of course it is. Aren't IRL sweetmeats actually the thymus that is deep-fried? Or am I thinking of sweetbreads? Either way using progenoids actually is not that far off of a concept.

Sweetmeats tended to be sugared meats. Like a pigs trotter brushed with sugar and syrup.

So the Stormfang flyer kit is on the shelves. I saw it at the FLGS when I popped in to grab WD. I was in a rush, though, so I didn't have time to look at the box...
