Hey everyone. I'm new to the board, and fairly new to imperial guard. I've been playing warhammer for about six year...I'm not sure anymore... I started messing around with some bits I had and got an idea for an Imperial Guard force and now I'm slowly working on it (along side my death guard project). I'm not sure what its going to be at the moment, but so far I like the idea of a forge world planetary militia. The models themselves are a 50/50 mix of fantasy men at arms and 40k cadians along with some green stuff work. The legs and heads are men at arms, while the torso and arms are cadian. I cut and shaved the cadian shoulder pads off, then used a thin layer of green stuff to touch them up. I sculpted goggles over the eyes to make them look mildly more techy. I made a green stuff mold for a backpack from a witch hunters model that im using on all of my guardsmen. Finally I gave them mantles around the necks to make them look more uniqe, and cover the line between the arms and the torso. I don't have any photos at the moment, but I will soon. I just wanted to introduce myself and run this idea by some people. What do you think? Do you have any good advice for guard? Anything really.

Hey there, welcome to the Imperial Guard, Brother, Lets say we head to my office for a chat eh? Anyways the Idea sounds ok, not anything i havent head of before but with a few touch ups. Sounds Good, but tell me, are you going to use the men-at-arms helmets along wif their heads? I saw that on the GT 2007 pamphlet with a men at arms holding a lasgun. Look cool, keep it up, and uhh....take wif u sum pictures k?

I have used the men at arms helmets, yes. They look good on the models so far. I've basecoated one, and now I'm wondering how I should paint them. I've decided that they are going to be a forge world planetary militia. I will be getting a digi within the next week so I will be able to take some pics.

sounds absolutely awesome! It's a rare thing to see someone invest alot of time and effort in modelling custom infantry. from what you've described, it sounds like you've picked up a good few tricks in your years in the hobby and I really look forward to seeing some pics, because what you've described so far sounds really hawt! welcome to the IGMB lem
