Basically GW dropped the stats for the Aegis Defence Line from the BRB between 6th and 7th. Rules can be found in Stronghold Assault which are still legal.
The question is: Can you take the ADL in any game of 40k and just use the Stronghold rules. It seems like 7th is permissive given that it talks about using things from other supplements, such as escalation in order to get things like formations but it is ridiculously vague about what does and doesn't count, for example it doesn't exactly exclude the use of formations written for apocalypse, or give any guidance on how many rules can be casually imported into a normal game of 40k from the expansions.
What do you guys think? What have you been seeing, doing?

Everyone I know uses it as it is done in Stronghold, which is essentially like it was in 6th with just a few extras.

That is a relief, seeing as I am a newbie and that is like the only piece I have ready.
