There's a new Blood Angel tactical box out. What I didn't notice initially (until I caught a comment online) was that the base size for marine infantry has been increased from the standard 25mm round base to new base type : 32mm round base. This will be good if marines start getting bigger with every new kit to compensate for the larger base. But it got me thinking... How long have I got until marines start becoming significantly bigger? Opinions? Do you think this will happen gradually, or just BAM! the next time tactical marines get upgraded they get a size increase and a price mark-up? Hope not... New Blood Angel Tactical GW site

I wouldn't mind the models being a bit bigger. They're supposed to be 8ft tall supermen, but when you put them next to a Guardsman, it currently looks like they've tried to stand up in a rhino and smashed their heads on the ceiling too many times.
*adds obligatory comment about GW trying to make more money by forcing people to buy new bases*

are they tactically advantageous?
for close combat I read an argument that stated larger bases for the attacker was advantageous as it means they can hit more enemies when they charge?
They can also spread further apart if needed.
I would like to see true scale marines.
it makes me sad that my marines won't be true scale unless i green stuff the heck out of them, so would become dwarf-marines.

Models remain legal if they are on the base they are provided with. GW will make money because marine players do want proper sized marines and plenty will be seduced into buying replacement infantry or starting a new chapter.
