sorry if this has been covered before but i am battling me brother inlaw at the weekend and he uses dark angels and is going full terminator. i have looked from cover to cover in the rule book and cant find a minimum amount you have to deploy in 7th. ther for am lead to believe he can take his entire army in reserve and deepstrike them in turn 1 or even turn 2 (leaving me twiddling me thumbs for 2 turns) without having to roll or scatter due to death wing. if any one could shed some light on the matter that would be great or better still give me the page number in the rule book to disprove this theory. cheers.

as far as I know you can reserve as much as you want, but (and that's a big but) if you have no models on the board at the end of a game turn (so after both players have had their turn) Then you loose. So if he reserves everything and nothing deploys on turn 1, or he deploys a few units and you destroy them then you win.
/
A case like this came up in a US tournament in 5th edition I think, a chaos player with lots of bikes deployed second against his opponent. His opponent chose to reserve his entire force(bar a single squad or 2), the chaos player turbo boosted up the board and turned his bikes sideways blocking off the entire deployment zone, while his entire force focused on the 1 or 2 other units wiping them out. As the 2" gap between models didn't allow his units to deploy as they would break the 1" minimum distance in the movement phase he couldn't deploy any of his units and he lost the game. if he had had deep strikers they would have been able to deploy as normal as could out flankers.
Also, if you take Coteaz and 3 servitors with plasma cannons you can lock down a good 12" area from his deep strike attacks as he allows his unit to make an out of sequence shooting attack at anything that arrives from reserves within 12", and this ability has no limit allowing you to keep throwing out plasma templates as long as he keeps dropping in within 12".
hope that helps. Cheers, Cuthbo

The D/W unique terminator assault rules allow them to choose either turn 1/ 2., with Belial.
