I picked up a copy this weekend. Some of the formation bonuses are wack... There's one that gives all models Move Through Cover, Relentless, and a buff to Reanimation Protocols. The combo of Move Through Cover and Relentless makes for some scary move and shoot potential with Warrior and Immortal blobs.

From what I've heard so far reanimations got hit hard with the nerf bat, and they have a formation detachment not like the other new dex's that just have modified FOC's. In my opinion I makes they army less customizable. I haven't gotten too far into it but it seems like they got rid of most of the unique things and streamlined it.

I didn't even realize they had released another one. Why? Was the old one completely borked when they switched editions or something?

The old one was a little broken in 7th edition, however they are trying to get all codecs updated to one edition.

Yeah, it was pretty much a stealth release, Reds. The 'Crons only got one new mini along with the new 'dex (a spiffy new static pose plastic Overlord). You wouldn't even know about the 'Cron release unless you saw the WD preview, or got an e-mail from GW/went on GW's site during pre-orders.
I've got to say that I'm really looking forward to the upcoming stand-alone Harlequin release...

im just getting ready for my first battle with the new cron codex and im loving what im reading so far... i reckon its definitly one of the stronger dex of 7th ed... with the decurian detachment you dont need to take cryteks in units cos all units get the +1 to RP anyway so you save points overall and still get the benifits... with the canoptek swarm i can give my wraiths reanimation protocols on a 4+ if i want ... its great... it makes me want to use heavy infantry necron lists insted of barges and flyers because of the free benifits.
things im a little annoyed about..
the huge nerf on the tranny ctan... i loved that bigboy... oh well... and the fact i need to buy tomb blades now for a viable list... annoying but at least its a decent 60 odd point spend.
my list for 2k will consist of.
decurian detachment core. overlord with warsythe, phylanc and phase shifter. 5 lychguard 10 tesla immortals monolith 3 tomb blades with shield vanes and shadowlomes 10 warriors in a ghost ark 10 warriors
canoptek harvest 1 spyder basic 6 wraiths with whip coils 5 scarab bases.
destroyer cult. destroyer lord 3 destroyers 2 destroyers + 1 heavy 2 destroyers + 1 heavy
to me... that seems like a fairly strong list.
they all get +1 to their RP rolls, withing 12 inches of the overlord they get relentless and move through cover and rerolls of RP rolls of 1 canopteks get the choose from RP rolls, fleet or shred.... plus move through cover and relentless (if mounting particle casters on the wraiths, otherwise kinda pointless) destroyers group get to reroll failed wounds and armour pen rolls which seems awesome to me.... but sadly no relentless which would have been sweet.
the codex is awesome...buffed flayers and guass to...

Good breakdown, Ashot. Is the number of Destroyers in the Cult detachment variable? Just asking because the GW web bundle has 12 destroyers listed but I'm counting 11 in your list.

Chem, the Destroyer Cult consists of 1 Destroyer Lord + 3 units of Destroyers (1-6 Destroyers with the option to upgrade 1 to a Heavy Destroyer) + 0-1 units of Heavy Destroyers (1-3 Heavy Destroyers). I just took delivery of a second Monolith, the new Overlord (kinda disappointed that his upper arms are pre-molded onto the torso), and a Tesseract Vault/Obelisk today. Already thinking about how to gimmick the Vault/'lisk so I can flop between the two...

GW does, indeed, now have a box set of 3 Destroyers, although they also still sell individual ones (which is how I got all of mine over the years). I may need to get the plastic Wraiths, another Doom Croissant (or several, love the fact that these guys can be squadroned up now), and another Command/Annihilation Barge, and then I potentially will be able to field all of the formations.

I'm Necron player too and I think when the dust will calm down, we'll see lot of standard necron list, becauase the sum of the bonuses from Decurion don't worth their price. Don't misundertand me, Decurion is great, but it's too rigid and cannot allow to use some unit in the way you want (cannot take a single annihilation for example).
So I say: look well on dinasty like the one (don't remember the name)present in shield of ball, and you will find more useful stuff.
You can have a stronger lord than standard one, and you can get a re-roll on RP for all your troops. Yes you cannot have RP to 4+ (Crypteck set aside), but you can still deploy 7 AV13 veihcles, or get Wraith without the mandatory single spider ecc ecc...
All in all we (as guards) will end to face a more resilient force, stronger as before, or even more. a really hard nut to crack...
I'm going to play:
Lord con command barge, 2+/4++, Scythe with str8, IWND, fear Cryptek with solar pulse
Stalker
10 warriors on ark 10 warriors on ark 10 immortals on Scythe
5 Tomb Blade full Scythe
3 Annihilation Barge

I didn't even realize they had released another one. Why? Was the old one completely borked when they switched editions or something? Well, I may just be propagating some speculation and spreading baseless interwebs rumors... but word on the WWW is that it was the first of fix's immediately after disenfranchising Matt Ward.
At least that's what I heard from That1mofo on that unanimous website. Because everything we read on the internet is true right?
