As a rule, we try to not execute people.
We sacrifice them to Chaos.

Am I doing this right? Now I've got one infantry blob a special weapons squad of grenadiers in there, heavy weapons squad loaded with x 3 ML's, vet's squad kitted out with sniper rifles & snar mines. Two infantry squads in there & a PCS to top it off. Now I'm stuffing both my CCS's in there to help protect my HQ's.
The OTHER infantry blob I've got no heavy weapon squads in there but I've got two special weapons teams in there with lots of plasma melta a vets squad with melta's, krak, plasma, carapace two infantry squads on with a flame thrower & a vox the other GL & HB overseen by the Commissar. Also have a PCS in this infantry blob to help lead them to a glorious death.
Now can I have the sniper's & ML's & each individual unit target seperate enemy squads or is everybody in the infantry blob shooting at the same unit?

Do they have to move together? Can I rush one squad of the infantry blob and leave another stand in order to get the heavy weapons to lay down fire?
Can I load a chimera with one special weapons team out of the infantry blob or is there a way I can get special weapons teams outside of an infantry blob type list?

A platoon is a selection of units that count as one troops choice.
You can link the 10 man infantry squads together if you want.
The other elements will be acting independently.
EG: the PCS, HWS and SWS will not be grouped and can target what they want.
Hope this helps.

- If you blob 'infantry squads' together they have to shoot at the same target (which is why its better NOT blobbing but keeping them as individual squads)
- As Tread says its only 'infantry squads' in blobs, not Heavy weapon squads or Special weapon squads. But infantry squads still have the option to take a sw or heavy weapon.

Missile launchers are pants in 7th. You need to roll 7+ to get 'explodes' so it'll only work on an open topped vehicle with a m/l. That's why I upgraded my tac squads to lascannon instead now.
The other trade-off is you get more orders to go around with blobs. I only ever used 20 infantry blobs but it was disastrous.

The fact that Missile Launchers don't get the +1 due to their low AP is countered by their flexibility and slightly lower cost.
I like Lascannons in separate Heavy Weapon Squads, whereas Missile launchers can still fire into hordes along with the lasguns of the blob.
Blobs take some work to get used to, I prefer them over 10 man squads though. (hence why I rarely field veterans).
