So, how did the kickstarter turn out?

Absurdly successful. The recent updates have shown lots of completed kit renders and some actual plastic minis, so they're chugging along. I forget when they're supposed to be ready by, but I'm willing to wait.

Aren't those discontents on Dakka raging over heels right now?

I got my TGG 2 sisters, nearly two years to the day that this thread was posted, as it turns out. My thoughts...
General
The minis are smaller than GW's, as is usually the case for third party proxies. The detail is very fine, and these are arguably the best female face sculpts you'll find out there for generic infantry models. The poses can be pretty cheese-cakey, but I think everyone knew that going in with the concept art they showed off. Still, be aware, in the dark future of the 41st Millennium, there are only D cups or larger. Each model is coated with what the Raging Heroes team calls "Releasing agent", but what I assume is residue from the ennui that fills the air of France, where they were produced. My first wave of hero minis were coated with the stuff, but it's been very minimal for most of my minis so far. As such, I've not properly followed instructions and scrubbed and aired the minis, but it's not been much of a problem. Quality control is generally much higher than Forgeworld. I've only seen some very tiny air bubbles in the hoods for one kit, and any excess plastic is usually easy to clean off, and not on a part that snaps when you try to clip it or cut it off.
They do not come with instructions. I'll have to check online to see if they made any, but given the amount of money they made, I'm sure they could have sprung for a cheap pamphlet. Normally these are fairly straightforward minis to assemble, but some, like Ascended Sister Erzabel (The Not-Saint-Celestine), certainly need some just to point you in the right direction. Conversions and kitbashing with GW minis is a bit awkward, due to the size difference, but I was able to pull together 10 heads that fit very nicely on my Sisters of Silence. I'll post that later in my thread of madness.
As for the kits I've built so far...
Davidians
These are really freaking cool. Like, seriously awesome. The detail, especially on their big mech boots, is really good, and you can avoid the worst of the cheesecake poses for most of the models by adjusting the position of the torso. Some of the heads fit onto the minis at weird angles (there's a notch between the shoulder blades where the heads and the hoods fit on that dictates the angle they're attached at), but because of the variety of head options, and because I picked up both a Troop and Command kit, I only have one that's a bit off. The chainswords are also really nice in design.
Grade: A (A+ for the troops. The command poses are a bit more weird).
Knights of the Chalice
These are some badass sculpts. Their size make them seem like Terminators, but rather than being squat and broad, like most Terminators, they're tall and have proportions closer to regular humans. I'd say they're actually closer to 35mm scale than 28mm. The models themselves are excellent (the shields in particular), but the waists are too narrow, in my opinion. Overall, though, they don't fit especially well with the other minis, and look like they're from a different game system or something. The good news is that most of the heads here fit with GW minis. This is where I got the ones I used on my Sisters of Silence.
Grade: B+
Heroes and Characters
The first characters I received, the 'freebies', were largely high quality, and I was quite happy with them. The three I received in this one, less so. I picked up the Templar, Sanctifier of the First Order (or legion or whatever), and Ascended Sister Erzabel. I was looking forward to the Templar and Erzabel the most, and they were the biggest disappointments. The Templar is awkward in the extreme. The scale seems off, the pose of the arms is weirdly compact, while the legs are splayed out too far. Compared to the rest, it is noticeably, weirdly bad, and the only mini so far I regret ordering. Erzabel is okay, but some parts of her fit together awkwardly, and will need some greenstuff patching. I haven't even tried the wings, and instructions would have been greatly appreciated for this mini. The sanctifier is very nice, especially the flaming sword. Only the flame on the skull in her hand is a little off, since it makes it look like the skull has a stocking cap glued to it.
Grade: C- (Largely due to the Templar mini*)
I still need to build the Seraphim and the basic troops, some of which I will be tackling tonight. Overall I'm largely pleased so far. The detail of the sculpts is high, quality control is good, and you can tell the Raging Heroes team really went all in to make these happen. The only quirks for the most part are some of the poses, and possibly "internal" scale between the minis. We'll see how the troops turn out.
*This is doubly disappointing for me, as the mini had seriously awesome concept art, to the point where I'd use it in a game of Dark Heresy to represent an Ordo Malleus inquisitor. It was one of the ones I was looking forward to the most.

Nice review Reds.
Since it seems vaguely relevant I'll state that my TGG JailBirds are fantastic, (I got them a little while back and kept them a secret) I got the command squad and the regular squad (each x2) so I can make 20 veterans.

Having aired most of my sprues for the 7 day ritual I'm now doing the next cleaning steps, 1 hour in 50/50 Fairy Power Spray/warm water.

Ok, I assembled my first Knigh of the Chalice. The waists are a bit silly and I've lost half a pair of legs during the unclipping due to the shear stress being too strong for the material. They had really gummed that pair to the sprue. I've got one half up to the knee and the other half flew away somewhere in this room.

Just putting the first of these together and I'm going to have to green stuff the neck because there was no way I was going with the head angle it was trying to force me into.

Yeah, some of them seem pretty painful.
I had to put the remainder of mine aside for a bit. I'm underwhelmed by the troops, which have the worst poses of the lot. Haven't built the seraphim yet.

I would be more enthusiastic about picking up a set if they had more rifles & less heavy weapons/HQ.... I need another missile launcher right now like I need a kick in the family jewels. With the new codex who needs a new commissar? Am I the only one who already has too many standard bearer's?
