Hi comrades,
I'm thinking to take a couple of Salamander tanks for our Maelsrom game, as I stated in the topic thread, do they worth the 110 points that they cost? They have Scout and are fast so they may gain few early points, but will be Salamander enough useful for the rest of the game, or 110pt are too many for a couple of mobile autocannon?
Have you any experience about Salamander?

Hi,
I haven;'t any experience with the salamander... do they have a transport capacity?.. do they count as troops?
the price they cost seems high given that a chimera with stock weapons brings more guns, however, you are paying for mobility - so if you want to build a list around advancing fast on a flank then they may be ideal for your needs.
Fast Scout vehicles such as the salamander can grab objectives and potentially deliver small units to help with this task, putting a PCS with flamers inside may be a good way to go.
As Maelstrom games feature objective which can change priority during the game having highly mobile units can be beneficial, I would be concerned about their durability though as they aren't very tough and a single autocannon isn't that much of a threat.
How many points are the games going to be?

Usually we play 2000 pt. Anyway we're pretty free for what can be used or not, so I my add two Tauroxes for less points and the same mobility.gI'm finishing paint a WW2 style guards, so I'm thinking to use two 28mm Universal Carriers as fast scout troops

Scout gives you outflank. I'd use it if you don't like sentinels but want armour coming in behind the enemy.

I use sentinels too, but sentinels have different role in my Army: They always outflank in order to get side armor of enemy tank, or to reach enemy lines. Although they're slow, and if the objectives are far from the side they come from, they cannot get it in time. two scout, fast tank can grab early point from far objectives in the first, second turn, or ifthey survive, they can run here and there to get distant objectives. a couple of Salamanders, or probably Tauroses can move 12" as scout, than 12" in my movement and then flat out other 12". Enough the reach every side of the table...
