hmm, 40, what should I do? I figure I can probably justify buying something daft. any suggestions? I made thirty this year. Given I was seventeen when I started frequenting here, this is modestly terrifying. Welcome to the club, it's all downhill from here.

Got my own house, printer, girlfriend and a good stock of single malt. If this is a decline and fall, then it's a decline and fall which leads to Byzantium.

It's a decline and fall that leads to not being able to get up on your own.

It's a decline and fall that leads to not being able to get up on your own. Oof. Are you still ensconced in Japan at the moment?

I was about to say that ensconced wasn't the right word, but then I remembered the times we're living in and reconsidered. Yes, I am ensconced in Japan.

I've finished reading the rather excellent Salvation Reach, and my Epic Lost and Damned force is progressing nicely. Might print off some stalk tanks in commemoration.

Today I finished up getting all the Steam achievements for Warhammer Gladius. Curse you Sound of Unsilence, and dishonourable mention for The Killing Joke which they just changed the requirements for so it now super easy rather than annoyingly tricky.

I'm currently painting up 15mm soviet infantry and IS-2s, because Bagration looms in Flames of War and I plan on running the 29th Tank Corps. I've been negligent about posting pictures recently, but I've manages to finish a 120pt American army in desert colors for Team Yankee and about 100pts of mechanized Germans and big cats for Flames of War. I'm managing to crank out a painted 100-120 point army every month so far.

I dunno, I think having my brain eaten would be a relief at this point in 2020.

Has anyone else played Necromunda: Underhive wars? I picked it up on sale after their major patch and I'm enjoying it. A bit buggy but it's quite fun.

I'm thinking about getting it, I was watching a playthrough on youtube the other day and the AI seemed to be lacking in the "I" department. How has playing against it been working out for you? 3 out of 5, I'd say. They can be good at concentrating fire and punishing you for being to aggressive or careless, they actually play the objective on "Collect resources" missions, and they use overwatch decently well. They still struggle with terrain on occasion and multi-faction battles and outpost defenses are a weak point. You may get a fighter or two knocked out but as long as you're mindful of the objectives and the map you won't really be challenged too much.

Thanks, I might pick it up over the weekend. I quite liked "Mordheim: City of the Damned" which was made by the same company, the AI in that was pretty 'meh' but the game was still challenging at times and you could get completely destroyed if you underestimated the AI. Sounds like it's more or less the same deal here.

Things are a bit quiet here these days, but we're still around. By the way, what are those tanks in your avatar from? They look like shermans, but too small for Bolt Action. Are they Flames of War?

Greetings Mr Cooman!
Winter is upon us, more time indoors, what could I find myself doing with my time I wonder!
Pics will come I promise!
In the meantime, My lad has been building up his Nid army, we currently play a 25 PL game round this scenario; we place 4 objectives and at the start of your turn in which you have control of an objective you gain 1 VP. winning army stays on and must keep units and wargear options (though can change relic).
I have a small force of Orks (since my others are locked away in lockdown), and am currently planning to play my girlfriend at a 40k Flash Gitz Drinking Competition - there will be a you-tube!
My 40k roleplay has started its second season, (season 1 finished with approximately 25 or so survivors out of a platoon of 60) I'm producing loads of sketches and loving roll20 now I've got my head round it.
My girlfriend has discoved the joys of making terrain out of the recycling (and putting her degree in engineering to work) so my kitchen table is becoming a dystopian industrial nightmare!
I have finally made use of the incredible tool that is rapid mold and am making loads of kneeling legs for my guardsmen (they're going to be the player characters / NPC's in the roleplay, I 'need' them for the photo's to set atmosphere).
I finally painted my van go-fasta-red... and it will be getting it black checker pattern soon. (it already has 3 skulls on the dashboard). Plus maybe some rediculous exhaust pipes though I need to check what I can get away with for the M.O.T.
The blood angels army is happy with the chainsaw intercessors. apart from the biker chaplain i think I have reached the end of that army. unfortunately they are way too powerful against nids so I'm contemplating increasing all marine PL's by 1.
My girlfriend is incredible at painting details... she first got into models via raging heroes, she's not interested in the game though has found Orks make her chuckle when she finds out about their culture and she loves re-building, re-tasking, scratch-building and customisation. She really wants to go to the Wasteland festival... though its in the U.S. In the U.K we have 'road to ruin' and it looks like it might be fun and grow over time.
did I mention I have a girlfriend now?
star wars x-wing has reached a size where the games are taking too long, so now we play with less models - balance is a bit tricky though. I haven't explored the complex rules as I like the quick pace of the basic rules, however, I may need to look up some kind of points system to calculate how fair the match-ups are.
I hope everyone is doing ok, or better than okay. Its good to see everyone is still coming by, even if it is less frequently than before!
Whats everyone else been up to?
ps - 100 stupid ways to die in the imperial guard (or something similar) is a great thread (on a different forum), I'll try and find the link as its an ace read!
and remember, 2020 is nearly over, we've almost made it! just a fat man in a red suit to beat and we're through!
