if facebook is a problem then use this to set limits on the number of hours spent on certain websites. www.proginosko.com/leechblock.htmli know friends who swear by this and have succeeded in breaking addictions to reddit, facebook, twitter etc. Nice idea but she never uses the computer, only mobile.. I'll look for something like it on android though, I'd like it fur myself

That's so cool. If I was a zillionaire I'd get a Karamazov costume and the actual Throne of Judgement with real servitors and a working multimelta (only to microwave food at a range, of course). "I judge this chicken jalfrezi portion guilty of treason." Zzzzap!

Personal things are much better, yay.
And ive gone back to red dragon for a bit... i really hate being nuts at games!
10 hours time a week isnt enough to split between ELITE, BF4, gta5, HotS, LoL and Wargame.

choices choices!
To get good at wargame build yourself a deck, then build a counter deck for the opposition, then play both sides before changing the either of decks - I find this helps me learn which unit can trump a specific unit in the other deck, this inevitably leads to tweaks in the first deck as the arms race continues.
Trouble is that if I don't play for a while I forget all the trumps and then get massacred!

Been trying to get on this site for weeks now. Don't know why it decided to work today.
Anyways, I have caught up with my mortgage. $5198.34 payment on July 24th! Now I'm in debt to friends and family but that's a lot better than having to sell the house and move.
How is everyone else doing?

Glad to have you back, Rook, and that's good news about your mortgage. If you have to be in debt to someone, at least it's those who care about you.

Good to hear, Rook. Hope your life picks back up.
Ran Roll To Dodge for the first time today. I like it -- very loose and good for introducing new players, I think. First game (5 hyper tweens) was weird. I suggested they use characters from the Minequest computer game I was offering this as an alternative to (I'd refused to let them back on) and it ended up turning into some sort of "supers" game. Two characters claimed to be immortal and one claimed to be able to cast a spell that would kill everything around him in three minutes. It was a mental workout. Every time they died (or killed each other) I let them invent another character. Kept it going for over half an hour before they started paying more attention to their gameboys.
The second was a teenager who hasn't been able to get into my Fantasy XD20 game but has been very eager to try. I ran him through a basic dungeon crawl vs. goblins and gave him a fighter, thief and wizard for his party. He was creative, enjoyed the ups and downs of the game and ended up negotiating with the surviving goblins in the dungeon, who led him to their tribe. Then he managed to convince the goblins to send an envoy to the human village his party had been hired by... we stopped there, but I wouldn't be surprised if he asks to pick it up again next week.

Tread, i was so awful ive loterally trippled my quality of gameplay by simply using infantry... i had no idea 90% of the game relies on them and their suppliers, i used to play like 80%tanks 20%jets :/

Thanks for the well wishes, guys. And Req, I would never have intentions of leaving this site. Now that my life is back on track(more than it ever was) I can see more clearly. Started rereading Getting Things Done and will finally get my dreams going. Ulrich Wordcrusher at the ready!
Since being let go by the machine shop I've been painting. Its a Union shop which is kinda nice.
Anyway, more later.
How is everyone on here?
Req, still in Japan? Trooper, how are the dogs? Adken, how are the kids? Reds, what's new? RT, how was your b-day?

Trooper, how are the dogs? Shadow has a UTI, which was diagnosed from a urine sample last week when he was at the vet for his annual checkup and vaccine booster, with two types of Gram negative bacteria present. The vet had prescribed an initial course of Clavamox when the lab first reported bacteria in his urine sample. Being a microbiologist, I asked that they culture the bacteria and test them for antibiotic resistance. Turns out he has both E. coli and a Pseudomonas species growing in his bladder. The E. coli was susceptible to the Clavamox, but the Pseudomonas species was resistant, so the doc prescribed a different antibiotic called Baytril, which is in a tasty, chewable tablet (so I don't have to faff about with hiding a pill in cream cheese). He started the second antibiotic last evening, and seems happy and is acting normally though, so no worries. Delta has been experiencing some digestive upset, and has been having massive diarrhea for the past day and a half. The vet thinks she's probably having trouble with her kibble, due to her bad teeth, and I've switched her over to wet dog food. The vet has got her on a different antibiotic, in case she picked up a protozoan parasite, along with Immodium. She made a massive mess during the night, but seems to be feeling better this morning.

I've not been deported yet. I'm on vacation right now, making the most of my time off with some good old-fashioned exercise and video games.

I got a new job, for which today I am required to go to a meeting an hour away from where I live that's going to be a complete waste of time.
However, attendance is mandatory and despite the people and things I have to put up with from day to day, I like my new job and I want to keep it until something better comes along. And so, I go to this meeting that will be a total waste of time.

You know you've made it when all you do is go to meetings that would be NO different if you were or weren't there.

I went to a meeting that was a waste of my time even though it should have been useful -- the first week of my previous job was training, and the last day was an explanation of how the county insurance system worked, how to sign up for, select and use benefits. It literally went in one ear and out the other and I was lucky that I only ever went to the hospital once in the six years I was there, because I'm still not sure how that stay got paid for.
