So back in the swing of guard, I purchased my first wyvern yesterday and got started painting it. Also on the painting table is a chimera and Vanquisher battle tank that are both half finished. I also wrapped up an old school Leman Russ (though with a new eradicator turret) last night and got to work on repainting a second hand Stormlord or whichever one has the volcano cannon (my first super heavy!!!). With that second hand purchase I also got 25 steel legion guys, a steel legion commissar, and 11 1st gen storm troopers which are all sitting in simple green currently.
And finally some awesome news. I am now officially the monday/tuesday and oncall guy for my local Games-Workshop store so I now get that sweet sweet discount!!
Some small updates, I'm currently painting the stores human half of blood bowl. Lets see if you can guess what city my store is in haha.
A couple space wolves. All the pads are free hand for the death wolf great company.
And I did get one tank done too. Long story about this tank having to do with a piece of nuts roommate, backwards tracks, and a deal to have him be the commander. The guy has had a small pony tail and beard added to look like him. He also got to name it and pick the varient.
Gunna ignore the crap out of your cover save hehe. And thanks, I have most of the base metal done now but holy crap is this thing huge (no "thats what she said" jokes). Plus ive decided to do all the rivets. This is proving to be a nightmare.
The full story of the tank is thus. So my former roomate (god damn his soul) had a messed up Russ. I mean this thing was in bad shape. The full track pieces (not just the track themselves but that entire section of the Leman Russ) was reversed/backwards so that the tank looked like it was reversing while advancing. His deal to give it me was that it could not be changed. So I offered him the right to both name is the tank and pick the varient so that I could fix the tracks. He agreed on the condition that I also converted the tank commander to look like him. He's a piece of sh*t but not for this reason. I really want to put a cloth sash (from the immortal miniatures hoplite set) just barely covering "unmaker" to rename it the "extortionist".
No reason the tank couldn't have a buddy tank with the name: "<-Extorionist-*" where * is some chipped paint hiding the > that would complete the name, call the commander "I.M. Withan" and act like nothing is up
So this 50% discount has greatly slowed my painting as I am now buying a building anything that catches my eye. But I did manage to whip up a Russ today, do some work on a sigmar giant, and build some orgyns.
Lemans Russ Vanquisher "Foe Hammer"
And to improve morale, Imperial Grog for all men within 6 inches.
And now a giant. I have wanted this model since it came out like 10 years ago and now that it was 25 bucks for me I had to snag it. I wanted it to fit into my Empire force though (yes I know it's not a legal ally anymore) so I sculpted him a hat. It's not great but I like how it came out. It's still drying in picture so ignore the support on the feather.
And because I have no self control...these are happening next.
Small update. I've done some work on the giant and am making progress but still a ton left to do. This thing is quite the beast. Also someone really needs to regulate this discount. I am being so irresponsible with it haha. While waiting for a wash to dry I decided to buy and build yet another Russ to kill the time. May have went a but overboard with the "extra armor".
But giant as it stands...
And my new demolisher. I want to work on some weathering for this one and since it's a front line tank I imagined it being riddled with damage and bullet holes. Also went pretty heavy with the bullgryn bits on it.
