After a long and glorious conversation with Comrade Sappmer, I have compiled a list of manufacturers who's products can be used to build Fantasy formations (since Fantasy is now going the way of the Dodo). It will also likely save you money.
Please note, this list is not exhaustive, and works under the assumption you are willing to do some basic conversion work
THE EMPIRE
Soldiers of the Empire
Perry Miniatures Bills and Bows kit, or Perry Miniatures European Mercenaries kit.
Mantic also do their Basiliean range.
Swords/Spears/Halberds
Crossbows
Knights of Empire
Perry Miniatures Mounted Men at Arms
Mantics Basilean Knights.
Greatswords: To date, there are no Doppelsoldner/Landsknecht plastic kits out there. Your best bet is the WOTR Foot Knights kit, or the Agincourt Men At Arms.
Mantics' Basilean Paladins kit may also work, though, to my mind, it is hideous.
Pistolliers: To date, there are no Reiter/Currissar plastic kits out there, so I'd recommend buying the Perry Miniatures Light Cavalry kit, and converting it with their European Mercenary kit.
Flagellents: Difficult, but you might want to consider blending the following kits together to get the appropriate level of bat-fornicate crazy
Wargames Factory Woodland Indians
Perry Twins Sudanese Tribesmen
Wargames Factory Celts
Or you could inflict Mantics' Basilean Sisterhood models on yourself.
BRETONNIA
Bretonnian Knights: Fireforge Games Teutonic or Templar Knights. The Templars are later sculpts, the Teutons have badass horns.
MEN-AT-ARMS: Fireforge games Foot Sergeants, or the Perry Twins Bills and Bows kit. Feel free to combine the two.
Mounted Yeomen: Fireforge Games Mounted Sergeants or Sergeants At Arms. The Perry Twins Light Cavalry may also work quite nicely, though they have a later period feel to them than Bretonnia.
Update: A Cathayan Army can be nicely assembled from the Wargames Factory Japanese range, and the Fireforge Games Mongol range. I appreciate neither of these are really Chinese, but will make a decent approximation.
ORCS AND GOBLINS
Mantic Orcs
Smaller Orcs/Hobgoblins: Wargames Factory's offering. Would blend well with GW LoTR Orcs.
DWARVES:
MANTIC
AVATARS OF WAR
Both seem solid. Honestly, both are GW knockoffs par excelence, sorry, not much to talk about here
OGRES:
Mantic
OGRE SMASH.
UNDEAD
MANTIC
One of Mantic's best lines. Ghouls, Zombies, Mummies, Skeletons and Revenants, cavalry and vampires IN fornicateING SPADES.
