Back in 5th treadiculous and I experimented with some rules for jet pack kanz. They were pretty hilarious though the previous rules, which involved rolling everytime you wanted to use the jet feature to see if it would explode in place, fly somewhere sort of where you wanted it to and explode, or actually work properly was judged to be too fun random, especially since it was done by the model rather than by the unit which tended to have a unit suddenly shoot of in all directions like mad fireworks. Since I might get to use the ones I've built in an upcoming battle I've updated the rules. They are a little more reliable now and don't die if they accidentally fly off the board (which was funny). Comments and critiques are welcome.

Any Storm Kan can replace its weapon with one of the following:

Any Storm Kan may take any of the following:
• Ejector Pack 3pts/model
• Grot Riggers 5pts/model

At the start of the player's move phase roll a D6 for each Storm Kan. On a roll of a 1 that Kan activates it's Storm Pack (this can cause the unit to separate)
• Storm Pack
An overpowered engine latched onto the Kan the pack is activated by either the on board grot pilot or via remote by some sadistic Mek. Once active the Kan rockets off in a barely controllable arc, either landing near/on some unfortunate enemy, or exploding part way through.
When the Storm Pack is activated roll 3d6 and place the Kan anywhere that it could have reached had it travelled that number of inches (as if moving with a jump pack). Next roll a scatter dice and another d6 on a roll of 2-6 move the Kan that number of inches according to scatter. If a hit is rolled the scatter die, the Kan somehow performs a perfect flight and lands where it is supposed to. If a 1 is rolled on the D6 the Kan has exploded. The Kan is removed from play as a casualty and any models with 6" take a S6 AP 4 hit.
If by virtue of landing where you planned or by scattering causes you to land on another model/unit then all models under the Kan (and the Kan itself) take a S6 AP4 hit.
If a scatter causes the Kan to leave the board it must enter ongoing reserves.
• Ejector Pack
On some rare occasions a grot is able to make secret modifications to a Storm Kan, or sneak in a jump pack with which to escape.
At any time during the battle (including the point of the Kanz destruction in either player turn, or mid flight of the Kan) the Gretchin may eject from the Kan. Remove the Kan as a casualty and place a suitably equipped grot up to 12" away from the Kanz' last position on the board (if ejecting during an attempted flight then this is either the take off or landing point). The Gretchin remains as a model in play equipped with a jump pack and a S3 AP- pistol.
• Da Bomb
Far more often than allowing ejector packs to be smuggled in Meks in charge of maintaining Storm Kanz attach 'on purpose' explosives to the fuselage of the Kan intended either to make the best of a crashing Kan, or to motivate the grot pilot to do a good job of testing out the Mek's latest jet engine.
If the Kan explodes either due to the Storm Pack or by rolling the Explodes result on the vehicle damage table then treat the explosion as 2D6 S8 AP 3
• Safety Features
Decidedly unsafe for the pilot, these usually consist of a remote control box that locks the Kanz' rocket ignition sequence until the Mek activates it, typically while at a safe distance.
If you have safety features you don't have to roll Don't Press Dat at the start of your turn for this Kan.
• Extra Rokkits Rokkit Launcha
This rokkit launcha has more rokkits! Why? Storm Kan Meks just love rokkits. A better question is why don't they all have more rokkkits?

(Note: Some of the Storm Kanz stats are just better than a regular Kanz codex stats. But if you forget and play them with regular stats then that's probably them just being less reliable.)
