Hello Everyone,
Since I'm new to the AM I decided to snap some pictures and write up a batrep for the second game I played with them.
A little disclaimer up front; we used a custom scenario called 'Hold untill relieved' created by our gaming group.

Both lists came out to 1250, but I might have forgotten to list an upgrade or two. We decided that I would be the defender, as it simply made sense due to the armies. This meant I got a 10% increase in points, which I used to plant a bunch of bunkers and a few wall of martyrs pieces in my deployment zone (no guns, no entering the buildings)
Turn 1:
BA:
M:
Two droppods land next to my line; The Furioso lands right on target, on my right flank and gets in position to frag/flame my guys. The Veterans scatter quite a bit to my left and decide to focus on the platoon rather than kill my CCS.
S:
The Laspred shoots at my CCS and scores two hits; one bounces of the bunker, and the other kills my Lascannon team. The Furioso kills a missile launcher team and 2 infantry men and puts a wound on one of my Heavy Weapon teams with his heavy flamer. The veterans in the pod roll poorly to wound and only kill two men. All the other units flat-out/run towards my lines.
AM:
PCS (B) orders FRFSRF on platoon (B); who kill a single marine
PCS (A) orders itself to "Move Move Move" to reposition.
The MoO lands a near perfect shot on the marines that disembarked from the rhino; killing three.
Turn 2:
BA:
M: The last pod stays in reserve, and the rest of the army keeps moving up
S: The marines in the Droppod kill another 6 infantry men with their flamers and pistols. The Baal pred scores 8 wounds on the Autocannon team on the left, who go to ground and save everything but a single Heavy Bolter wound. The laspred shoots at my CCS, but fails to do any damage. the stormbolters on the droppods don't do a single wound.
A: The marines assault platoon (B); three of them die due to overwatch fire. The sergeant kills 4 men including both sergeants, and is subsequently bludgeoned to death by lasguns. The platoon consolidates towards the droppod.. but I realize I have no real way of hurting it, or the rest of the armour on that flank.
AM:
M: The Wyvern and the two sentintels come in from reserves. The Sentinels take up position to shoot at the Death Company, and the wyvern Hides behind a building. Platoon (A) repositions a bit, whilst the remains of Platoon (B) move back towards my line. PCS pops around the corner to shoot at the droppod
S:
The CCS orders the autocannons on the left to get back into the fight and "Bring it Down' on Platoon (A) and the other Autocannon team; combined shooting from the last two squads takes a single hullpoint of the laspred.
PCS (B) orders "Move Move Move' on the remains of platoon (B) to get them out of LoS from the Baal.
PCS (A) orders itself "Forwards for the Emperor" they take a single hullpoint of the droppod on my right, and run towards cover.
The Sentinels score 7 hits on the Death Company, but thanks to FNP only two of them die. The Wyvern misses it's target completely. The Autocannon team on my left takes a hullpoint of the Baal.
Turn 3:
BA:
M: The third pod land next to my CCS, and the marines disembark towards the CCS. The laspred moves slightly to the right; breaking LoS with my missile Launchers and one of the Autocannon teams. Everything else keeps closing in, The death company move out of plasmacannon range, and are just within charge range.
S: The Baal shoots at my CCS that goes to ground, but it still manages to kill a lasgunner and the banner depsite the 3+ coversave. The Melta marines that came out of the droppod can no longer draw LoS to my CCS and shoot at platoon (A) instead, killing two. The Laspred kills an Autocannon team on my left flank. The deathcompany and two of the droppods shoot at Platoon (A) and kill three in total; which puts the Death Company out of charge range.

M: The veterans and the Russ enter from reserves, the sentinels move forward. The SWS moves into the space creater by the dead Autocannon on my left. Everything else moves away from the Death Company and towards the Melta Marines.
S:
PCS (A) orders itself "forward for the emperor" taking two shots at the Death Company, but they fail to wound.
PCS (B) orders FRFSRF on Platoon (B) that kills one of the marines in the droppod
Combined shooting from PCS (B) and the SWS kills to more of the droppod marines. The sentinels blow up the Laspred, and the Leman russ scores a weapon destroyed result on the Baal; taking of a heavy bolter.
Platoon A shoots at the Death company but they fail to get past the 3+ armour and FNP.
A: -
Turn 4:
BA:
M: the Rhino moves up and the marines jump out, the Baal hold its position. The remaining droppod marine climb onto the bunker and into assault range with my CCS.
S: The marines that jumped out of the rhino kill one autocannon with their meltas, the Death Company kill a member of platoon (a) with their Pistols, one of the droppod kills of a wounder autocannon on my right.
A: The deathcompany assault Platoon (A) and kills half of them (the other are out of range) the platoon breaks and is run down, the Deathcompany consolidates towards the objective and platoon (B)
The Melta marines charge my CCS, but neither side inflicts a wound.
AM:
M: The Sentinels move up, followed by the Veterans. The Russ repositions to shoot at the Deathcompany. The SWS moves towards the marines that came out of the rhino. PCS (A) moves into position to shoot the Deathcompany.
S: The SWS throws it's Demo charge and scores a hit; killing 5 marines and immobiling the rhino. The remaining autocannons on my left wreck the rhino. The Russ shoots at the Deathcompany; scattering slightly it kills two of the marines... and my autocannons on the right. The sentinels wreck the baal with a lucky pen. The veterans Flat out.
A: My CCS is cut down, and the marines consolidate towards the objective.
Turn 5:
BA:
M: the marines that killed my CCS move in to claim the objective, the Deathcompany moves up in support. The heavy flamer marine and his buddy that spent most of the game running through no-man's land reach my deployment zone.
S: the Marines on the objective shoot at the remains of platoon (B) that with two men left, decided to run of the field.
A: The deathcompany assault and kills my SWS
AM:
M: Sentinels move up the Russ repositions. The Veterans head back to claim linebreaker, the russ repositions for a trick shot.
S: The Russ shoots at the Death company through an opening in one of the droppods; it scatters but lands right on top of the objective, killing the two marines claiming it. The Sentinels kill the footslogging marines. PCS (A) kills a Deathcompany marine.
A: -
We roll for a turn 6 but the game ends.
In the end I scored 10 VP: first blood, Linebreaker, 8 kp
The Blood Angels scored 9 VP: Slay the warlord, linebreaker, 7 kp.
It was a very close and very bloody game; the Blood Angels had a single Deathcompany marine and the chaplain left, along with the 3 droppods.
and...
My Defending force was almost wiped out; only the 4 men in PCS (A) survived. I still had my reserves left, the odd way in which they had to enter play was interesting... the russ and the sentinels really benefitted and got off some nice rear armour shots, but the veterans and the wyvern ended up to far away from the battle to do anything usefull.

The Rules:
- Defender gets to spend 10% more on his army but has to reserve 50% of his forces, deploys first, and places an objective in his deployment zone worth 2vp to the attacker. In addition the reserves enter from the opposite board edge (attackers deployment zone).
- Attacker gets first turn automatically, no seize the initiative.
- Hammer and Anvil deployment
- The scenario uses: Slay the warlord, first blood, linebreaker, killpoints, 1 objective in the defender's deployment zone worth 2vp to the attacker.

M: PCS & Platoon (A) on the right moves away from the Furioso, whilst Platoon (B) moves in on the marines that came out of the droppod. PCS (B) moves along as back up, whilst the SWS hides behind the autoccannons on the left.
S:
The CCS order "Bring it down" on the HWT on the right, and platoon (A); they fire all they have at the Furioso and manage to wreck it scoring me first blood. The HWT on the left fires on the rhino carrying another heavy flamer to my lines and wreck it.
