THESE ARE NOW FINISHED ILL POST UPDATED PICS WHEN I UNPACK ALL MY MODELS AGAIN. The Knights of House Terryn ...... (currently assigned to task force Venator on the eastern fringe) Maximus - First of brothers, piloted by sir Trebelian Maximus has served House Terryn for many centuries and has acted as the anchor point for many imperium assault. Unequalled in close combat situations will kills uncountable. Maximus is most famous for the fatal blow it delivered to an Eldar Phantom Titan on a long lost Biel tan Craftworld, essentially finding the graceful monstrosities achille's heel. Romulus and Remus - Brothers in arms and blood - Paladins of house Terryn. Piloted by sir's Issac and Gregor Pontix Issac and Gregor are Brothers, they have lived and trained together their entire lives and have never been deployed seperatly, their fighting styles complement one another and they specialize in defensive situations, their most notable defence being the gates of Polizius during an assault by the Tau commander Far Sight, they held the one hundred metre high Titan foundry gates for three days as their Death Corp of Kreig allies retreated into the iron fortress after loosing the defensive trenches on the cities outskirts. The Tau were beaten off when an Adeptus Machanicus warfleet arrived and purged the Tau with legions of Skitarrii lead by the Imperator class Emperor Titan "Fortress of Faith". The Emperors Charger - Knight Lancer - Piloted by sir Severus Wreckless and foolhardy but to this day unbeaten, The Emperors charger and its pilot sir Severus know no fear and strike at their enemies with a hatred and energy unrivalled by any other Lancer class Knight still in existence. Sir Severus has only been joined with The Emperors Charger for two decades but his demeanor and temperament have changed dramatically in that time, during his training as a boy Severus had always showed an incredible combat prowess with the speed and skill to match an adeptus astartes, but he lacked the killer instinct always choosing to back down from confrontation. It is said that a pilot can sense the essence of the previous pilots of these great war machines and that essence can effect them in ways untold. Whatever changed Severus has created a warrior of skill and fury and no foe has survive a flanking assault by The Emperors Charger. Annihilation of Xenos - Knight Castigator - piloted by sir Esheron Sir Esheron is a mute. He is given orders and he obeys (the orders he deems honourable at least). It is said that his war cries can be heard amongst the volleys of fire that come from his knights Vulcan Mega bolter as if the bullets ring out in tune. The knights most recent exploit was his rescue of Captain Uriel Ventris and his sergeant's Pasanius and Learchus of the Ultramarines fourth company. Surrounded by Green skins on all sides, waves of Ork boys and a contingent of clanking mechanical walkers, Annihilation of Xenos lived up to its name cutting down the boys with Vulcan bolter fire and leaving the ork walkers in pieces as it Scythed through them with its enourmous power blade. The Captain of the Fourth would be forever in Debt to this silent destroyer but this rescue left a bitter taste in the mouth of the Ultramarines second company commander, Cato Sicarius, who had ordered Sir Esheron to hold his position. Lord Calgar himself praised Sir Esheron and personally awarded him the seal of Macragge for saving the captain of the fourth company. The Campaign continues and the Knights of house Terryn alongside their Ultramarines allies prepare to face the great enemy.....

First up is the Storm Hammer! this has been sat in its forge world bag since shortly after release so it defo needed building! Went for flamer sponsons (magnatised) as it seemed like a good option for taking out infantry in close quarters battles, other options were laz cannons, multilasers and heavy bolters. [/p]
Still needs a bit of green stuff tlc before undercoating but its getting there!

That's a shame, what you've put up is fantastic! Are the FW Knights this dynamic or have you converted them to get the action poses?

Thanks Judcottrell,
Apart from I think the leg that's raised on the lancer which I had to modify very slightly the rest is all posed naturally using the forgeworld standard parts, all the weapons are also magnetised as well. I can also swap the weapons between knights, not sure if its legal but love the look of the lancer with the power sword. much more effective for a flanking knight that can take on large squads of infantry, the lance is more of a super heavy buster. ill do a more indepth post on the knights in a couple of weeks when I start unpacking my models again, waiting for the carpet fitters to do my bedroom and hobby room next Friday then I can start building my work table and shelving unit to house all my models.

ok so bit quiet on the hobby front at the mo but its because im busy building the hobby and games room. just a couple of pics of the workbench and pillars for the shelving units... At the far end under the window will be a lower table top which my LCD display for my pc will sit on with a wall of dvd / cd cases up to the left of it. the blue table in the corner will be the main work bench with sever shelves above for displaying models. larger models will have to go up top.

Ok so the hobby room is finished and last night was time to start bringing my 40k out of storage! This is not all that was in the loft would you believe.... Almost forgot I had this one aswell, the plastic kit that goes with my forge world stompa parts, must get on a build that one! All ready for unpacking... Note to self " measure your imperial knights before building shelves," (good thing there is a top shelf for the tall fellows and flyers.) The start of my broken in storage pile.... Is that Susan hiding in there.... One of the very very few tau models I own, think I might paint this one next, went to a lot of effort on the dioramic? base. There's Susan!!!!....... This was great for me digging out both my Ghaz models, shown the progress I have made with my painting skills! a long way to go though to catch up with some of you fine folk! (p.s sorry for the blurry image) Lastly this is whats going on at the other end of the room..... "I name thee man cave!" Ok so that's all for today, ill get some armies on shelves shots when I finish unpacking, got a few things need gluing up aswell!

Horus Heresy Character series..... Got a couple of these and thought id post them as they are some of my better work, I also have the chaos Contemptor that's in the series, mhara gal? but he needs a little more work. Well that's it for now, not got round to full army shots, although to be fair "full army" is not really correct as half will probably be undercoated in various colours but not much more lol

Finished up another Ultramarines vehicle tonight, (minus transfers) Sicarion... also been working on this guy, now my entire tau collection is painted! all 5 models lol this was more of a brush up on painting white before building my mechanicum but im a bit meh with the results, tried to go for a dirty battle worn look with mixed results and a bit of untidy brush work. my ceramite white has split and gone gloopy so I watered it right down but paint just went were it wanted lol are the citadel whites the best to use or would anyone recommend another brand?

dang it ive just noticed I havnt dry brushed the gold on the tank hull, that's why it looks so blocky in colour compared to the weapons.

I havent used citadel ceramite white but in my experience with citadel whites and greys is that whenever i thinned them by putting water into the pot it would eventually "break the paint" faster that other citadel paints. So i would rarely put anything directly into the pot because of that. The best thing I could suggest when painting with citadel whites is to build up from lighter greys to white scar. What kind of primer are you using? Building up a solid layer of white scar for example takes me 6 to 8 thin applications. I used vallejo game color bone white and notice that it took fewer coats to cover but the pigment was rather "streaky"? even though it was properly thinned. Maybe it was just a bad bottle.

Usually I would use grey primer from halfords which is actually what forge world recommends lol, yeah building up the white does take a few coats, its not so much painting the white its doing the lighter highlights afterwards, models look a bit flat. I actually found that painting white over silver comes out quite well! Did this on some ork models which had smaller white areas. Painting 6 coats on me mecanicum troops is a defo no lol, far too fiddly to do 6 times. I'm thinking karak stone or a bone colour then building up the raised areas in white.

Right. As far the model not popping though heres something to think about. Most people suggest using white or grey primer when painting a model with light colors, but think about the fact that gw paint is transparent in nature. So painting white over white would allow for undercoat to show through more than usual since white is even more tranparent than most colors. This would make constrast on the model harder to develop. Now if you were to build up white over a black under coat you would know for sure if you applied a solid coat due to the contrasting difference between black and white. Where as on white and grey primer it can be harder for the eye to discern between the white paint and the white undercoat and therefore harder to confirm if you really apllied a good solid coat of white. Just something to think about.

I had a similar thought but thinking of doing this..... Grey primer, base coat leadbelcher which takes care of metallic area then applying nu!n oil to darken it all down as I would on the metal anyway, then building up the white, I think this may have a similar effect mabye not quite so good as painting over black. Also for the robes etc on skitarii I'll probably do the edges with copper or gold anyway to make the line look sharper.
