A friend of mine has found himself in a bind. He has pre-ordered two Ravenwing battle forces and has been really considering doing a gaurd army, and does not wish to spend a small fortune on two armies at once. The question hes been asking me is what should he do? I post this to ask what you guys would if in his shoes?

Take them to a GW store and see if they'll exchange them for two IG battleforce box sets. I've exchanged things that people have bought me for presents that I didn't want.

Having been a red/black shirt i can tell you that this is the stance...
If you have a receipt from the shop (which he wont) and the product is unopened, you can either exchange or get a refund.
If you have no receipt and the box is wither sealed or opened then you can get an exchange for minatures of EQUAL OR MORE value if you are prepared to pay the difference.
So if he really doesnt want those ravenwing battleforces and really want to do guard then he needs to get down to a GW and do a straight exchange for guard models of equal value.

well he can try giveing mail order a call and seeing if they can change his order...they are usually pretty good that way...if not then wait for delivery and pop down to the local GW and do the exchange.

you can telle your friend to print the order he made online and bring it with his order to his local GW store. They will certainly exchange it or something...Ask your local store, they may guide you.

I've always been able to exchange things without a receipt.
