Looking good. But I feel like the re-purposed shoulder pads on the abdomens could do with a little putty around them to make them look less like shoulder pads that got stuck on.

Yeah that's a good idea, I just have to be careful not to ruin the power cube behind it. The neck milliput needs sorting out on the one I did a close-up of. Sometimes taking pictures helps me see the flaws better..

Those are some creepy experiments your magos has been performing... as far as totally non-heretical munitorum approved, experiments can be creepy, ofcourse.

Yeah we found these xenos limbs leftover from Ichar IV and decided to keep them, all in a good cause Might paint the legs metallic in any case so hopefully it'll look more robotic eventually. I could always drill more holes and put looping wires in all the claws as well.

Tally ho, muchachos! Here is Belisarius Cawl, a Sydonian Dragoon, a tech-priest and 2 servitors. The left servitor is an 80s Bob Olley classic and the right one is from the 90s, the enginseer I just found in a box, so I think I've got 4 of those enginseers now. Cawl is just a monster; it's a great piece; actually I left it in 2 sub assemblies rather than 3, which is what Duncan Rhodes recommends in the painting vid, but I found no reason to paint the axe separately.

He has 8 hooves/ tyranid style mechanical scything talons for feet and lots of trailing wires, a handy belly mounted auspex type device and the only actual flesh parts are half of his head and his own left arm, which is withered. In the illustration of the 3 characters on the back of the assembly instructions he has his withered hand and the corresponding mechanical one next to it pointing up in the air, doing a boogie.

I haven't done my Cawl yet as I have been sucked into the depths of Inq28/Inquisimunda, of which I'll post pictures when I have more than bare plastic... I finished my painting commission off, and spent the cash on Blood Bowl

I'm working hard on getting my poor neglected Chaos forces ready for a game against cheminhaler next week for our road to Cadia game. Chemin gave me some pretty neat bearded renegades to paint, like a year ago, and their presence was requested for this game so I've been using them as an opportunity to try a few different renegade schemes. The Soul Drinker might have to wait a bit for his chapter symbol. I'm also not happy at all with the highlighting on the Crimson Fist. I might have to rethink how I'm doing that sort of edge highlighting, or maybe it could use some more finishing because right now it doesn't feel like it's pulling together. Anyhoot, onwards to the deamon prince and Plague Marines. (Nurgle grant me strength.)

The Mantis marine with the half-spiked hair looks brilliant.
As for the 'fist I quite like the highlight colour. It's very bright but edge highlights always are. I don't think I have the patience to do edge highlights anymore; drybrushing is so much easier.

I will do the chapter symbol for the Soul Drinker, but I want to put him on the table for a game once before I wreck that shoulder pad.

The video on youtube by Sneaky Samurai is great, isn't it? It's like you want me to get back into marines - but I got the GEQ bug.. The eye is super special. When I built that model I was always thinking that if he accidentally eye-butted the spike on his shoulder pad, it would end up really messy and then he'd need a face-patch. They were made with Rolling Thunder 's bitz, so he will want to see that excellent paintjob..

Maybe apply a blue glaze to the Crimson Fist to pull the highlights together/tone them down?

Maybe apply a blue glaze to the Crimson Fist to pull the highlights together/tone them down? This picture is post glaze! :/ Maybe a second glaze. And a third if needed... Experiment with it, there's no reason not to, especially if it would spare you from having to totally re-vamp your highlighting technique.

Dear aunt Gertrude This is an intergalactic munitorum emailpost from Joe, Sally's Joe, not Matilda, he's with the Eightball Eights and I'm in the Lucky Sevens. Me and the dogs from Easy E platoon are guarding these tall metal poles from someone called KebabDon the Dee-spoiler. Joe from Fraggen F platoon said they're real important and High Command said the Norties are working for KebabDon now so we're gonna kick Norty out of town, just like at the Mek Bull Run. Take care of little Joe and I'll send more messages when we win here. Joe

I did a bit more finishing on my Canoness Veridyan and took some photos to see if I could spot any problems.

I'm not sure about the feudal world scions but they are certainly interesting and well converted models, I'll reserve my harsh judgement until they are painted. The rest of it is shaping up nicely, I look forwards to slaughtering them.
Right now I'm taking a break from painting models and working on a TTCombat construction shed which I'm working a bit too hard on, giving it an extra layer of interior and texturing the steps with milliput. Again final painting will show if this was squandered effort or not.

I also need to spread base colours on infantry and tanks, rather than detail work. It's good to be able to move onto something else finally.

Did anyone else notice that Raging Heroes' Knights of the Chalice are actually scaled as Primas marines? And a couple of other scale photos for anyone who wants them, for this marine I've swapped the head with a Templar upgrade head and put a bit of putty in the neck so it is standing a bit proud. "

Your Black Templars are going Primaris? Loving that 2nd edition snap together Templar on pic 2. I found a missile launcher one from that generation which is going straight into my new flashy camo leafy marines. Just testing Imgur out:

I'm not sure what to do with the starter set Primaris. Converting them to Black Templar could be fun but I'm a bit unsatisfied with how the black on the armour has come out on the previous models. Maybe I'll do them as a more colourful Chapter.
