So although it's got to be one of my top 3 favourite 40K models there's a bit about the Valkyrie that I don't like. Or rather, I don't like the look of it. It's this bit of the engine mid-section (indicated by pen). I just think it should look different. It's like I don't feel I can paint it to blend in with the rest of the airframe. Then Forge World made this cover/panel for the Sky Talon engines and I like it. So I made this. It's the central fuselage spine extended in the centre/rear with a couple of bits from a Baneblade top track cover and the side extensions are the top rear hull of a Land Speeder Storm. I had to put a grill at the back to make it look more streamlined and not have this sudden angular drop off at the rear. It's a couple of grills from a Land Speeder Storm again. So now it looks like this

That looks sweet. It blends in with the model really well: like it belongs up there.

Cheers Nutty, that is the desired effect, to "smooth over the edges" so to speak, make the "lines" a little more seamless.
