All,
NOTE: I'm using direct links because the images are massively huge, which can slow down page loading.
Since I mistakenly assumed it was a nic day out and decided to do some priming, and happened to have my phone in my pocket, I decided to take a few snapshots of some conversions I've done. I apologize for the quality, since they were just quick shots.
I long ago decided that I wanted a full plastic army, since I hate both metal and resin. I also hate paying $30 for a single infantry mini, so I've sidestepped using most of the GW minis for various HQ choices. That meant converting when I decided to add librarians, a chapter honor guard, and an unreasonable number of techmarines to my collection. Because I have too much money and not enough sense, I've managed to cobble together a reasonably diverse array of spare bits to make that happen. Below are the horrifying results of what happens when I decide to make my own version of a mini.
Techmarine with power fist and grav pistol (That doom claw thing is from the Kataphrond kit)
Techmarine "On a bike' with combi grav and power axe (treads are from the Kataphrond kit)
Back view of the same techmarine
A poorly angled shot of a techmarine with a servo harness, bolter, and thunder hammer (created from bits from at least eight different kits. Kinda proud of this one honestly)
Back view of the servo harness
Techmarine with a conversion beamer (Beamer made from a multimelta and weapon from the Kataphrond sprue. I've privately named the techmarine "Longinus" for reasons that are probably self evident)
Tech marine with custom thunderfire cannon that's actually a missile launcher (Cannon made from kataphrond treads and bits from the new Stormhawk kit)
Chapter Honor Guard (Made from the Sternguard vets kit with extra bits from the command squad and vanguard vets kits)
Simple librarian with force axe conversion (Grey Knight torso)
At some point I'll try to snag pictures of all my company captains, since they're the other minis I really went to town on.
