I quite like the hellhound. Nice beefed up turret merged with the classic fuel tank design.

Cool stuff Reds. It's a bit hard to see in flat black; but I'm curious to see how/if the Rockgrinder dozer blade changes the profile of the Russ compared to the standard one.
Is the part the flamer of your Hellhound connects in one of the Russ kits? It looks familiar but I can't place it.

I think it is the Baal Predator's flamestorm cannon.

Ah that could be it, I was thinking the frontpart was one of those Landraider flamers.

Trickstick is right, it's a Baal Predator flamer cannon. I took the Exterminator cannon, cut it back just behind that boxy part the guns are mounted on, and glued the Baal flamer directly to the piece, effectively replacing the part of the cannon beyond the part that was flush with the gun shield.
I've ordered a proper hellhound kit for the first (and probably last) time that I intend to build into a Devil Dog. Between that, the two hellhounds, my sentinels, and my plan to make rough riders out of the GSC bikes that were teased, I should be spoiled for fast attack choices.

Sounds good, even if I think that bike rough riders are heresy. The hellhound kit is probably the easiest kit to have all the options available for. It is just a barrel swap.

I will be doing the same as you Reds, I love Motorcycles and Warhammer, so GSC Motorcycles will be converted to Imperial Guard.

Nice! Are they a custom chapter or a spin on an existing one? And some bikers sitting in the background

They look really good, Reds. The scheme is like the Celestial Lions from the Grimaldus books.

Looking good! I like the use of the older mk helmet, gives the Captain a bit more personality. Are you building an entire force or just fancied a change?

nutty: Crimson Fist rules, custom chapter (Knights Vigilant). The bikers are on hold until I decide to spend the cash on some more cadian torsos, sadly. Getting the arms to line up with the torsos was a pain. cheminhaler: I know! Someone at my store mentioned that too and I'm so irritated I didn't notice before I ordered the shoulder pad iconography from Shapeways. The Celestial Lions are one of my favorite chapters and I absolutely would have done a Primaris force if I had thought of it. judcottrell: A whole force. It's been in the works for a little while but your Templars gave me a bit of a boost to put them back on the painting table. Right now I'm at 20 intercessors, 3 captains (two regular, one Gravis kitbash), 4 Aggressors, 3 Inceptors, 5 Reivers, and 10 hellblasters, plus the Repulsor. I'm going to pick up Shadowspear when that releases.

Coo! Plenty to be getting on with. I think they’re a brilliant range of models. The jury is still out on the Vanguard stuff for me. I’m not sure if stealthy stuff goes with the righteous zeal of the Templars. They do look great though.

Rough Riders done aside from cleanup. My "Scout Sentinels", armed with autocannons and a missile launcher. They're part of my "Not Tallarns", hence the boonie hats.

Those turned out really well, what kind of torso did you use for the sentinels and the three bikers?

Load vests from Anvil Industry. I started using them because I had spares from my Not-Tallarns and found they actually fit better with the GSC legs than Cadian torsos do. I have no idea why, they're about the same size and shape.

The vests look great, I've ordered all sorts of stuff from anvil but never torsos. What colours will you be using for these guys?

Is this the new Shadowspear Chaos Possessed?
The quad and bike conversions are amazingly crafted.

That's a good use of parts*. How do they look next to the previous marines?
*though the Esher whip must be even more fragile now it has been cut and glued.

cheminhaler: It's the Master of Possession from that box, with a new head, hands, and the wings from the DE scourges. Thanks on the quad bikes. The Anvil torsos were a great fit, much to my pleasant surprise. emptyhat: Weirdly the whip is pretty stable. I was trying to convert something that looks like it could be the Hydra Blade relic an ended up not having the parts I wanted, so I went with that instead. The contact point with the grip (no idea what kit that piece is from) is very solid. So, the new kits. Overall the aesthetic is great. They're not quite as over-the-top as the Chosen from the old Dark Vengeance boxed set, but they have a lot more sinister baroque flair than they used to. The chainswords, special weapons, and most of the heads are great, and there are some really excellent shoulder pads as well. The added little bit of height helps make them look better than loyalist Tacticals, and they're a massive improvement over the relatively ancient sculpts of the old CSM kit. BUT!I have an extreme dislike of how they put the torsos together. They're effectively monopose when it comes to the legs and torso, and some of those poses are deeply weird. Not all the arms work with the various torsos either, and despite some chest plates fitting together in roughly the same way they cannot be swapped (save for two bodies that come with alternate chest plates). The fact that the holsters and pouches comes molded onto the models ranges from disappointing- there aren't any "extras" like the loads of grenades, pouches, and chaosy parts that come standard in the older SM and CSM kits- to frustrating when they obstruct an arm posing. I also very much dislike the long belts of bolter ammo some of them come with. Belt fed small arms? Really? Great for plundering for your IG heavy weapons though. The price is flat out stupid, even by GW standards. You get less variation and bits than a box of tac marines for a 1/3rd price increase. Do not pay full price for them, they're barely worth it at 15% off. If you have CSM, I would buy a box if you want to make some characters or Chosen (Who are fantastic with VOTLW and Combi Bolters this edition), but if you're like me the difference between the new and old minis will bother you too much to field mixed squads. Even for new players, I'd say only get one kit if that. Getting the Shadowspear CSM off of Ebay is only 2/3rds the cost of the regular kit, and between the two of them you'll have all the bodies you'll need unless you're running Red Corsairs. Overall? A- for the Shadowspear marines, since they're available cheaply and are still very customizable (both the minis in my earlier post are from Shadowspear). B- for the CSM kit. Lots of useful stuff in there but you're still paying $60 for near-monopose tactical marines.
