Yeah. I think Genestealer cults is a good example. I can't imagine there was a huge demand (Since ht army was totally unsupported in any format for so long, and at least Sisters had rules), but they were a pretty big hit from what I hear. On another topic entirely! I've amassed a surprising amount of bits and pieces fromv various Space Marine kits, despite my attempts to clean out and give away what I can. If anyone is after anything for their marines, feel free to PM me and I'll have a rummage. It's obviously easiest for me to send stuff to other IGMBers on the east coast of the US, but I can ship stuff overseas too. It's not like it would be a big package, and I get a stupidly good Fedex discount at work. Anyway, I've got bits for Marines, Space Wolves, and Blood Angels (mostly terminator stuff), a sprinkling of GK things, and some Deathwatch shoulder pads and power swords. I've also got some DA, BT, and Ultramarine bits laying around, mostly shoulder pads (and, like, a million shoulder pads with the Crux Terminatus on them). If you're looking for something, give me a shout. I'd be interested in taking the Spacey-Wolfy-wolf and Bloodily-Angely-angel bits off your hands... No problemo. Shoot me a PM if you want stuff in particular. I want you back into 40k!

What kind of BT do you have? I've placed a pair of orders a while back, and will hopefully be recieving the start of my BT army in a week or so.
Shipping to mainland europe might be a pain though.

I've got some chestplates, shoulder pads, power fists, arms with bolters and chainswords (and those snazzy chains), some special weapons (plas, melta, flamer), two power swords (again with chains), and a power fist or two. I think I have some helmets somewhere, but I don't know how many. I've also got a BT Marshal/Sword Brethern/Whatever with a tabard, bolt pistol, and power sword. He's yours if you want him.
Shipping to the UK isn't a huge issue if it's just bits. It would probably cost me $10 or less to send it via two-day fedex. Shoot me a PM if you're interested.
I'll try to do a proper accounting of stuff this weekend, but I know I have the following...
- Several thunder hammers - At least two sets of lascannons - At least two sets of plasma cannons - And uncertain number of missile launchers, I can think of three off the top of my head, and may have more. - Two of the "Eagle Head" backpacks from the commander kit - An Iron Halo - Two Combi-meltas (from the commander box) - A Combi-plasma (from the commander box) - Multiple chainswords (just the hands holding them, though, not full arms) - A large number of vehicle accessory sprues, if anyone needs spare hatches or hunter killer missiles (or Mechanicus shoulderpads) - A wide variety of heads, helmeted and unhelmeted. At this point it'd be easier for you to ask after a specific head than for me to list them. I have two sets of the ones in the commander box, and at least one helmet with laurels on it. - An assortment of the "old" small bases Marines used to use. - Servo Skulls! (Not that you can field them with the Inquisition anymore...) - Several lightning claws - Loads of Crux Terminatus shoulderpads. - Terminator Heavy Flamer - Terminator Assault Cannon - Terminator Autocannons (from the Prospero box) - A few power fists, including that cool looking one with the claw fingers from the Prospero box - "Prospero" chainswords, which are basically slung in holsters that can be attached at the hip or to the backpack.
That's the generic marine stuff. For GK, I have some shoulder pads, a few chest plates, a few sets of sword or halbred arms, and might have the heads, too.

I'm in the Great Falls area, if you know where that is, and work in Falls Church. Did you ever swing by any Falls Church hobby stores? I worked at one and hung out at another for ages. I'd been down to complete strategist a few times but never played there. I always went to the Springfield GW since I knew everyone there. It was basically a club house for grown men.

I was the store minder on Sundays at the Strat back in 2011 for a few months. It badly needs an interior overhaul.
I still need to go down to the GW Springifeld some day. I've only heard good things.

Everybody showers there! But in all seriousness a solid community that regularly plays all three games (yes even lotr, they have a big community there for it).

Updates!
- Last box of Long Fangs assembled, Wolves are now nominally complete!
- Three Blood Angels painted. I'm not especially happy with them. Some people say thin your paints, I need to thin my primer.
- Skimmed through Agents of the Imperium. Nothing really shiny or new in terms of units or wargear. Everything is mostly just reorganized to be formation-centric, and to give Sisters a Decurion (which they can't use Celestine with, yay!). Servo skulls are gone, armor upgrades for acolytes and Inquisitors get a price cut, and THEY STILL DIDN'T GIVE ME BACK MY FRIGGIN SHOTGUNS FOR ACOLYTES, but I wasn't really expecting that. Being able to take my Legion of the Damned with the Inquisition is nifty, if somewhat odd from a fluff perspective, and I like being able to slot squads of Sisters, GK, or Deathwatch into the Inquisition formation and still being able to get the benefits. I also don't have to unconvert anything, so that's a plus.

Wait what servo skulls are gone? That was my only hope vs cults...

Yeah, apparently Eldar players are why we can't have nice things, according to BOLS. If it's as warm as it's supposed to be tomorrow, I'll take some pictures with actual light. Until then... The only two Blood Angels I've painted (out of the five I've done recently) that I'm moderately happy with. Bases obviously need work but that's loooooow priority.

GW Springfield has become but a pale shadow of what it used to be when Bing managed the store. Bill took over after Bing left, and was doing a good job with the new store space, but then Bill left and the place hasn't been the same since. I've only been there twice after Bill left.

Dave was an amazing manager. When I started going, the store was dead for months. Once bill was let go, Dave got the community thriving again, always having regulars hanging out painting and gaming. Nothing against Bill at all, he was a nice guy, but he was clocked out. Now Walkers taken over, who was the call in guy for years. Great guy too and is my "good" twin (I'm the evil one) since my last name is shared with his first. I'd recommend giving that store another guy, we really are a tight knit, welcoming bunch haha

Quickly done conversions from last night. In the foreground, my First Company chaplain (not thrilled with the plasma arm, but the shoulder pad needs to be in that position for the cape to work). Behind him are a pair of heavy bolter-toting Sternguard veterans. Is that sort of a waste of Sternguard? Yes! But I pulled them from a full 10 man squad who ALL had plasma guns or combi-plas, which was hilarious overkill, so I don't feel too bad (especially since the other three squad members still have combi plasma).

Aren't those autocannon rather than heavy bolters?
Fantastic work on the Blood Angels and the Deathwatch marines, they all look really great. Hope to see more shiny new stuff. Did you get the Corvus Blackstar? That's a great flyer; got the rulebook it looks OK with those missiles that give it the skyfire option.

Much thanks, Chem! Glad to have you posting again, by the way. They are technically autocannons, but I'm just going to run them as counts-as because I wanted to do the conversion. I actually had the idea for it a few days ago, and explored a few options for collecting Chaos, since they can still take them on their devs, but couldn't find a build I liked, or I could do relatively cheaply (I was complaining about it to Emptyhat on Steam for quite a while...). Eventually I just said screw it and did it on the Sternguard. I'll chalk it up to fancy wargear. I actually have three Corvus Blackstars, unprimed. I'm pretty terrible at painting vehicles, so I haven't so much as primed any of them aside from my Deathwatch venerable dread, which I'm not very happy with.

At least there's no fiddly cockpit section and if you're not bothering with the interior it shouldn't be too hard.

A lot of people have been posting some really excellent painting and conversions recently, so I may as well bring the average quality down share what I worked on this week. Here's the full demi-company, minus the Centurions in the mail. Ignore the guys in the back. That's a BA dread and a squad of proxy Legion of the Damned. Basic tactical marines. I gutted my bits box to make sure everybody had grenades and a pistol in addition to the usual boltgun. I wish they gave you enough for the whole squad in the kits. Veteran Sgts, all with combi-plasma. I'm not sure I'm 100% sold on them all having the same helmet, but it marks them out at least. My quintanus, leading half the tactical squad when they split. The Roman legions had a rank called "decanus" (literally 'Chief of Ten') that lead their smallest unit, so I figured quintanus sounds right for a five man squad. My command squad. I'm extremely happy with how they turned out, especially the Apothecary. My HQs. From left to right, a Chaplain I built when I somehow had a spare set of legs left over, my plastic Cato Sicarius, doing his best immitation of John Travolta (he was actually in almost that exact pose until I did an arm swap), and my normal captain, Marius Suzerian, converted from the Calth chappie. You can't see it, but the hand guard on the sword is the Ultramarines symbol, same as the company champion. I'm really pleased with how these guys all turned out, especially proxy Cato. I've got a bunch of shoulderpads and some of those crested helmets left over, so I may expand the collection at a later date, especially if the rumors about Rowboat Girlyman coming back for the End Times are true.

Did a quick test paint of a bolter marine. Glad I did, instead of going for the fancy guys first, since I learned a little bit about what I should do on the next one.

Loving your Ultramarines! I look forward to seeing them painted. I own the Forgeworld Guilliman model, it is sublime. Is it true he's coming to 40k!? That would be amazing!

That's the rumor, but they also said Plastic Sisters in January, and that's probably not happening, so, you know, grain of salt. Thanks for the compliment, though. Your Ultras were sort of the inspiration for the project.
