First off, to clear things up, what this book does NOT do is replace any already-existing codex. If you want to play a full Grey Knights army, for example, you'll need Codex: Grey Knights. What it DOES do is allow you to take a limited selection of units from a variety of factions in the Imperium and add them to your Imperial army. If you want to add a Grey Knights Terminator Squad to your Imperial Guard army as a separate detachment without much mucking about with Allies rules, this book fulfills that desire. I see this as a good thing if it lives up to its purpose. When I restart my Guard army in a couple years, I might add a squad or two of Sisters to it using this book (assuming it's still valid).

Might be Custodes or Sisters of Silence as the final one, but I'm still hoping for Arbites.

Is anyone wondering if this sort of coalition book will replace allies in 8th?

That's actually the current rumor, that there will be one big Imperium book, then another for Chaos, and a third for Xenos. That may just be speculation based on what's happened with Sigmar's Big Day Out, though. I'd actually welcome that, were it true, although I suspect Marines and the other Imperial forces may be split. Otherwise it's a LOT for one book. They seem to be fluffing out Chaos a bit this year, too, possibly in order to inflate the faction and make it worthy of a big book.

I would like allies to get cut back though. 7th's melting of the FoC was the worst part about it.

The Adeptus Telepathica is also the 'home' of the sisters of silence (and the black fleet) in the fluff so I'm guessing the sisters go with the wyrdvanes into one faction. And as much as I'd like to see Arbites.. My money is on Custodes being slotted into the final faction slot.

From the New Zealand site, this is what's in it:
- A full army list for the Battle Sisters of the Adepta Sororitas (note: this is confirmed to NOT replace the original codex, and is missing Saint Celestine, so if you prefer to use her, stick with Codex: Adepta Sororitas) (note 2: The new "limited edition" canonesns is basically a generic canoness which gives hatred in close combat)
- Tech-Priest Enginseers and Servitors of the Adeptus Mechanicus
- Valkyries of the Aeronautica Imperialis
- Battle Psykers and Astropaths of the Astra Telepathica
- Priests of the Adeptus Ministorum
- Kill Teams and Corvus Blackstars of the Deathwatch
- Terminator Squads and Nemesis Dreadknights of the Grey Knights
- The Legion of the Damned
- Assassins of the Officio Assassinorum
- Inquisitors of the Inquisition

Didn't 'he' get sacked for doing just that a few years ago?
I might have to get a copy + an inquisitor though. After getting whooped by genecults the other day I decided I need some servoskulls in my life.

Figured I'd share this here: The datasheet states that the special rules can be found in of the two codices, which a lot of people seem to interpret as "codex: SoB confirmed"... But atleast both lists are valid for now

Saw that on BOLS, the precision shots thing is nice.
I think the codex mentioned is the digital one they've had for a while now. It's nice to see it's still parallel to the rules in Imperial Agents, and that they just wanted to keep Celestene out of the formations there.
I'll have a digital copy of the book this Saturday, so feel free to post questions about it here, and I'll answer when I can. I think a lot of stuff has been leaked on BOLS and Dakka Dakka already though.

I don't suppose anyone here has read Harry Potter and the Methods of Rationality have they? That customer service name is worrying. (I'd avoid looking it up if you have any interest in what is quite a good read, spoilers abound)

Maybe if you want to play Inquisition. It sounds like there are more options for Inquisitors in that you can include a techpriest enginseer in a inquisitorial warband and then stick them in a Valkyrie, so it'll be a self-healing Valkyrie with a mad mechanic climbing out onto the fuselage, in mid-air, sticking new bits of metal onto the frame.
Also as this thread is attracting new recruits, here is your standard issue used tissue, er, I mean 'grav chute' and here is a broken, blunt plastek selfie torch.

As Chem said, if you want your Inquisition, then this is for you. The Sisters' decurion formation is useful, too, in that it brings Sisters up to speed, but you lose St. Celestine with this version, so, you know, trade offs. If you have either force and want them to fit more neatly into 7th (and possibly 8th) edition, then yes. If you're hoping for some cool new toys ore interesting combos, pass on it.

What do you need to have moedl wise to field the Sisters Decurion?

It's FOC based, since they still don't have real formations. You need an HQ, an Elite choice, and two Troops. You can take an additional HQ, 4 troop choices, 2 elites, and 3 FA and HS slots. Everything needs to be part of the Adeptus Sororitas faction.

So.. you get a detachment benefit for not taking Celestine? That seems... odd.
Does Imperial Agents actually replace any existing codeci? I think it was confirmed somewhere that the Sisters get to use both books available to them. Codex: Inquisition, is still available but the description reffers to Codex: Imperial agents.
I was kind of bummed to hear that there are no servo skulls in the new book.. need something to keep those pesky genestealers at arms length, and servo skulls would have done the trick nicely.
