I don't think there is too much chipping on the Cup, but I've been a little chipping mad lately. Is that a spoon sticking out of the cup or a biscuit? Also for the theme song it could have this: My little cup of happiness

Been a minute since an updated last but I assure you I am still working on this project. Have some more praetorian goodness for your patience. Thats a squad of veterans right there. Love the look can't wait to see this whole army together. Sir Hawkrin Xavier. (Colonel) Regimental commander of the Praetorian Vth Imperial Guard, as well as sector Liaison to Segmentum Pacificum high command. Colonel Hawkrin has always been my go to commander for my guard so updating him to fit the fluff and style of my army was important to me. I probably should have stripped him but i think he turned out fine without.

That red is really distinguishing them from the more elite, armoured storm troopers.

Nice!
Also those heavy weapon teams hiding in the background are coming along nicely.

First of all bud, you're awesome. I'm using the same idea myself with Vic lambs stuff. I'm using the full range for my infantry, which is going to cost me an arm and a leg, but for the Command Squad, I'm using the kilted guys with Pith Helmets, and you've also helped me settle on using one of their Lascannons too! And, you've also confirmed my rough idea of a Tank scheme too, that a nice sandy base would be very effective Truly, thanks, this thread has been great! I hope to see more Dave

I hope to see more Dave Thanks Dave, I am happy that I've helped you make some decisions on your guys. I know how hard it can be to settle on stuff for your army. I'm thinking about using the kilt legs for some of my vets but im not sure yet. I also have ideas for making a few squads of all females for one of my platoons. Maybe going to use the penal guys for my conscripts. I also have ideas to maybe do some slavar chem dogs as a kill team. Im not sure yet thats why im slowing down on new stuff for now and working on getting other stuff up to snuff.

Well if it helps, I was originally going to use the kilts to represent Vets, but, I've settled on just the CCS, I've even tried to achieve the iconic 'Blackwatch' tartan to a limited amount of success, going on my painting skills. It's not the best paint job, but, it shows how the parts can be combined and still achieve that Praetorian look I agree with what you said about Vic lambs sculpts too. They're incredibly well done and are a treat to work with. I've never worked with FW stuff, but, I would bet money that they are the same quality. Dave

Been a minute but I'm still going at it. Just thought I'd pop by with a photo update on my army. Been doing a lot of paint stripping and finalized the basing for the army. Here we see the army in its entirety so far, minus the One demolisher tank I have being stripper dipped currently. New edition has me excited about vehicles again, so maybe sentinels will be better then normal so I picked up a third to complete my squad. Here we see some more of my dipped models being prepped for painting. Commissars, snipers, a possible command squad and a veteran squad awaiting their head swaps. Still haven't touched my heavy weapon squads other then a partial assembly and I'm still waiting on my second six men to man the autocannons. Also Stripped cameras, and taurox awaiting paint. Kinda blurry picture of my leman russ tanks needing magnetization and painting, and my malcador needing the rest of its painting. My leman russ demolisher being dipped currently. Gotta love that super clean. And finally a picture showcasing my finalized basing technique. Nothing too special just some highlighted aggrellen earth and mordeheim tufts thrown in. Gives a good barren desert/wastes look. Also the last of my scions being done as well. That's all for now. Hopefully I'll get some more tanks done this week or my other veteran squads. I'm not sure as I'm hitting a painting slump. Need to overcome this and get pumped. I mean 8th edition sounds awesome so far and I'd love to have a good amount of guys ready to go for it when it drops. Cheers!

Very nice work bud. Loving how your army is coming out. That scratch built tank has to be my favorite thing, it came out so good. Keep up the awesome work.

It's easy to forget that Malcador is scratch built.. and the rest is looking great too. Keep up the good work
I'm a bit confused about the russ-in-a-jar though: how long do you leave it in the dip? I always thought you had to remove the model from the dip as quick as possible.

I always thought you had to remove the model from the dip as quick as possible. Well it depends on what you dip it in. I use Purple stuff or "super clean" as its actually labeled. It wont eat plastic at all, from what I understand you could leave it in it for weeks or months and it would eat away superglue and paint and thats it. I usually just leave it about 8-24 hrs or so and it does the trick marvelously. It will start to pit metal over time though as well so I'd stick to 8-24 hr increments to strip all models.

Great work on these!
Is there more to come?
