That tempestus starter set is nice, although I could do without the Commissar. My Commissars are already sufficient!
Now, the big question when it comes to GW. Do you order delivery to the store, so that you are (almost) guaranteed to have it on release day. Or do you order home delivery, gambling that it could in fact come early but may well turn up late instead?

I find it hilarious that Phoenix Lord Asurmen is listed under "Adeptus Ministorum" right now on the GW store.

all this is interesting stuff - a lot of reading shall be needed!
kinda gutted I didn't try selling my marines a couple months back as the price will surely drop as people favour the primaris.
on the flip side, it seems there are a lot of positives being mentioned, now to get more games in!

So here is testament to my moronicness. A while ago I posted this. Anyone reading it probably raised a confused eyebrow. Having said all that, I can't see why dedicated transports are out. I accept it, and I like how the transports themselves as individual choices have developed. But I've built an entire 10th company for them all to be cutting about in their own Landspeeder Storms. All scouts and landspeeders ... nothing else. Deep striking in, smashing stuff up, speeding off whilst giggling like naughty schoolboys. I can't do that now whilst remaining battle forged. I'm sure there's a good reason, I just can't see it. And the reason was because I misinterpreted a part of the new FOC. But It's so simple, what is there to misinterpret ? Well I'll tell you ... the bit in the top right corner detailing transport rules. So I thought When it said other, it meant it in the context of "every other FOC choice" ... like a Dedicated Transport can be taken for every alternate choice. No. It means "other" as in a FOC choice that is not itself from the "transport" part of the FOC chart. Just so nobody tries to take a transport for a transport. Sorry if I've bored you all but I feel I had to explain that although I was an illiterate moron earlier in the week ... I'm not quite such an illiterate moron now. Seriously dismayed with myself that the simple phrasing got me so confused And I've got an "A" Level in English Language too. (Sorry my Americano Amigos ... I don't know how to say "A" Level in Americanish).

So ... Commisar Tricky ... Does that mean all charges are dropped ? I guess as long as you don't attempt to insult any more machine spirits. So here is testament to my moronicness. A while ago I posted this. Anyone reading it probably raised a confused eyebrow. Oh, I thought it was something to do with not having an HQ or something.

Well after making £500 + selling old school guard on fleebay I think I'll start a smurf successor chapter purely of primaries marines. "Custodians of Hera" primary colour will be ultramarines blue with white shoulder pad trim and the right shoulder pad armour in gold. Might even buy a hover brick! Lol!

Ratlings get to do their "move after shooting" when they overwatch. Those things are going to be annoying to charge.

I noticed that the Tempestus and index bundle has already been removed. Several things are making me think that Scions may be one of the top tier armies, maybe even brokenly so. Plasma squads are so cheap and have very little risk of exploding if you use orders. The Taurox with gatling has really good firepower for the points. Additionally, units like Ratlings, manticores and mortar squads are really good. It would be really weird if Scions turned into a top tier army...

It'll be nice to drop my 200 Kasrkin on the board. Slightly off tack ... I stumbled across some info about the Repulsor Tank. Now I don't know this chap so he could be talking from his bum hole. But I'll pass it on. I'll let you all decide if it's pucka gen or not. So power level 14 and only has a transport capacity of 7. (A bit of a queer number ... 7 ... not very imperial I'd say). It's got missiles agogo but I'm not sure of their stats. Got the twin linked Las Cannon on the front as you can see but the main turret weapon is a Heavy Las Cannon Anyone come across a Heavy Las-C before ? Co-ax is a heavy stubber. S7, T8, W13, Sv3+, M10", A3, BS3. Time will Tell eh ?

There was a 30k weapon called the Arachnus Pattern Heavy Lascannon Battery, which was str10 ap2 and on penetrating hit, you take another pen on a 4+. Maybe something similar.
So I'm trying to decide what to order. There is a place nearby that does 15% and I was considering gaming there, as they have membership fees and a bar so probably a much better experience than a GW store. After getting the rules, index and some glue I have to decide if it is worth bumping my order up to £80 just to avoid a £2.95 delivery fee. A couple of Scion boxes are tempting.

Aren't the bundles just the price of the book and the Start Collecting set? Start collecting set is still available, as is the book. At least until they move it some more.Welp, ordered every book except Chaos. Here we go... I was going to buy a set of them but I've flipped on the issue and now I'm wondering if I should buy any. They sound really limited and lack traditional upgrades and eventually codexes will come back and replace them.

Well I wouldn't go and buy every one, only the ones that I would actually take to a game. Who knows when the codex will come out? I do think that Marines and Chaos will be out fairly soon though, especially with the Marine themed summer campaign that the stores are running (double campaign points for Marine purchases!).

I'm with Trickstick. I don't have faith in GW's "Eventually". The big splashy NuMarine release may not entail codecies for my Blood Angels (or my Deathwatch for that matter), and I don't expect to see anything for Orks or Eldar until 2018 to be honest.

I can imagine a squad of 10 ratlings with a junior officer doing their thing, then legging it into the safety of a Taurox. All giggling like naughty schoolboys.

I do think that Marines and Chaos will be out fairly soon though, especially with the Marine themed summer campaign that the stores are running (double campaign points for Marine purchases!). They are lacking in substance which is unfortunate. But this huge codex drop is just an interim measure to keep play possible after such a drastic rules update. (don't think drastic is too strong a word if we can't apply new core rules to an old codex ... like we've been able to do with every previous edition update). A couple of guys I know who's opinion I'd certainly take note of said to me that the new codexes are already written. And that the main ones will be coming out within a few months. AM around November but he admitted that was a guess. But something that he said that was a bit encouraging. He reckoned that no rule in any of the new Indeces will be contradicted or in conflict with any rule in the new codex. That each codex will just contain "extra" stuff that will basically bolt onto the stuff in the index. Faction specific FOC for example. So the gen in the index will still be valid after the codex drops ... it just won't be complete I guess.

Nice ... now is that an extra move ? Or is it just the two phases swapped around ? I can imagine a squad of 10 ratlings with a junior officer doing their thing, then legging it into the safety of a Taurox. It is a bonus move. Usually you wouldn't want to move them before shooting though, as then you get -1 to hit from sniper rifles being heavy. I'm not convinced that you can give orders to Auxillia units, as they would have a different regiment keyword. You could always give an officer the "Militarum Auxillia" keyword, but that seems a bit gamey to me. A couple of guys I know who's opinion I'd certainly take note of said to me that the new codexes are already written. And that the main ones will be coming out within a few months. I can see it being annoying for, say, a Dark Eldar player having to wait two years whilst everyone else gets a shiny new codex.

Marines will probably have to buy each codex x3. So small space wolves, medium sized space wolves, Godzilla space wolves, small deathwatch, medium sized deathwatch, etc. etc. You'll probably have to look at flow charts to work it all out.
Hah! My Godzilla Ultras are really tearing into your teeny spacewolfmanz!

So I just watched a video which discusses the new BL book which accompanies the 8th ed release, talks a lot about the primaris marines and their units etc, so apparently they will be getting a LOW flyer which makes the thunderhawk look a bit limp.......
