Pretty sure BoLS got the name wrong, it's Inceptor, not Interceptor. And they don't have dual plasma, but rather dual bolter SMGs (for a total of 6 S5 AP-1 shots per model). Still overpriced though IMO.

www.belloflostsouls.net/2017/07/40k-rumors-new-primaris-models-seen.htmlJust a confirmation of what we all know already about te new Primaris releases ... just from another source. However my soul is howling in disappointment that there is no reference to any new Primaris Flyers. I'm hanging onto an obscure rumour I saw somewhere that they had a transport capacity of 40. If only ... *gazes dreamily at the sky* Let's sit tight and see what happens with the big splash release. Given their floaty doom tank only holds 7 models, I'd be surprised if they didn't get something with more transport capacity.

Speaking of whcih, intercessors appear to be actually kinda strong for their price. 100 points for 10 T4 wounds and power armor is pretty strong to begin with (sisters pay 9 points for a T3 wound, tactical marines pay 13 for a T4 wound), add to that the squad has 30" ap-1 boltguns and 11 attacks before charge bonuses, and they can do some nice damage; they basically ignore cover bonuses, and penalize those who aren't using cover.

tbh I think we will see all the standard primaris models from gw and the overlord drop ship will be reserved for forgeworld to produce for the more keen collector and modeller out there, oh yes of course it will be £800+ lol not ideal for a beginner hey.

£800 resin aircraft are pretty cheap if you budget them as a chandelier.

You could hang a thunderhawk from the ceiling, trail a bit of wire through it and wire it into a standard B22 lampholder, stick an LED bulb in it, and Bob's your uncle.

So, new news about codecies. They're aiming to put out 10 this year, with Marines and CSM leading the way, followed by Grey Knights. Death Guard are also getting their own codex. Relics, stratagems, and rules for sub factions (Chapters, legions, craftworlds, etc) will be included. There will be changes from the indexes, but those are still important for things like the Imperial Space Marine and the Terminus Ultra.
I was sort of hoping they'd consolidate codecies like they did in the index, but I guess that's not to be. With the first four codecies identified, what do you guys think the next six will be? There are four more Space Marine factions (part of the reason I was hoping for a consolidation), the IG, Imperial Agents, and the Mechanicus just for the Imperium alone. That's on top of Chaos (Daemons and possibly CSM sub factions), Orks, Tau, Necrons, and Nids.

So far they've announced four Marine books as the first four books. Supposedly they might have ten codices out before the end of the year. The first four are Space Marines, Chaos Space Marines, Grey Knights, and Death Guard.
Given the over-the-top focus on marines vs marines, I'm guessing the next four will be BA/DA/BT/SW, which would leave two more. I'm kinda disappointed.

Someone will probably decide there isn't enough marine on marine action, so there'll be another box of Space Pigs VS Khorne Super Big Sig Pig Traitor marines.
I'm kind of peeved at having bought Index Imperium 1 for it to be invalidated in a matter of weeks by Codex SM - and just after I wrote the ultimate marine on marine action list. Feel the pain of those who bought TH and TL in 7th.

Marines are a side thing. They're easy to unpack for a game and everyone has marines of some generation. So it hurts - the constant gouging. Think of all the luncheon meat I could buy instead of a new codex. The rebasing thing was bad enough and I'm refusing to rebase my mostly painted stuff as I wrote the marine individual names on the bases.

i very rarely invest in books, using dodgy photocopies instead.
however I have caused confusion at a number of our games by bringing things which i didn't have printed rules for - hence why i bought the FW IA11 2nd ed. (which was valid for all of 5 months).
i can now legitimately field my corsairs in 7th - what they are in 8th I have no idea.
i'm kinda annoyed about primaris as i was hoping to sell off all my marines, i think my prices will have to drop now.
marines are nice to paint and I do get caught up in the individual heroism of each model, however, they aren't guard or weird aliens so I don't really touch them for games.

Raven Guard chapter tactics: Models with Chapter Tactics(Infantry, Bikes, and Dreadnoughts) get -1 to be hit by ranged attacks at 12 inches or more.
Damn, that's good. I like it.

Guess which chapter the Space Crows are descended from Jump infantry don't get the bonus? They're infantry, so yes, they probably do. There's also a warlord trait that prevents overwatch, and a chapter strategem that lets you set up units after deployment but before the start of the game, 9in away from the enemy. I can see that being bonkers with jump troops. I do have concerns though, having seen this and the UM chapter tactics. First is that I'll spend all my money to have a strike force from each chapter, but there's a risk of that anyway. Second, is that this may bode ill for balance. Both chapters' traits are pretty huge, so I suspect that GW is hitting the awesome button pretty hard. That would lead us to two possible outcomes; 1, that'll be true of the follow-on codecies, so everything will be a little bit bonkers (which will either throw balance out the window or cancel all the craziness out), or 2, it'll just be a First-Codex-Is-Best thing, and the rest will be a bit anemic. Maybe I'm just being skeptical, though. Marines, weirdly, are sort of mid-range in terms of power level, since they're few in number, and their vehicles are expensive. We'll see how much of a boost the codex gives them.

Guess which chapter the Space Crows are descended from Jump infantry don't get the bonus? All infantry. Even Terminators. Tactical terminators can sit back and pepper their enemies with storm bolters and missile launchers, daring your enemies to get close enough for your assault marines to dive-bomb them.

Back in the UK now and it's such a relaxing relief. A bit cooler, I don't have to concentrate to understand what people are saying, cars drive on th correct side of the road ... And a chance to get up to date with 8th ed developments and the board. So I'm surprised nobody has mentioned these chaps. Plasma wielding inceptors ... they're going to dish out some pain aren't they ? And those missile marines. The ones with the comedy hands. I've not had a chance to research them yet but does anyone have their stats ? Not sure if I can see anything else new in that pic though. HEY GW ... WHERE'S MY BLOODY DROPSHIP !!!

Codex - $50 (weren't they supposed to be cheaper in 8th?) Box o' 10 Reivers- $60 Redemptor Dread- $60 Aggressors- $50
I'm probably picking up the Aggressors and maaaaybe the dread through some place that offers a discount, but I'm not grabbing the Reivers for that price. That's just stupid.

People were saying cheaper codexes and no more codexes. Oh and no more book spam so you were running your army out of 5 different sources. Two down, one to go.
