I'm in the middle of working on the second detachment for my 2,000 point army and I have a few questions hopefully someone can answer.
I want to include a few guardswomen in my Tempestus and Vets and I really like the heads from statuesque miniatures. Has anyone ever used them and if so what are they like in reality?
I read in the fluff that in the Schola Progenium the boys went to the Scions and the girls went to the Sisters of Battle. Does this mean that there would be no females in the scions? If thats the case then I'd simply run them as special forces from my world.
Does anyone know how to take decent pictures with a GoPro camera? So far none of the ones I've taken of my completed models is worth posting.
Thanks in advance.

Hi. Just last week I got my set of 4 female resistance fighter heads from Statuesque and they are way to small for converting with GW.

Damn, do you know of any other third-party supplier? I'd rather use all GW parts, but by the time they release proper female models I'll be picking up a pension.

If thats the case then I'd simply run them as special forces from my world. That's the general fluff, but feel free to bend it as you see fit. Having them be a household shock regiment from your planet would be the safer bet though. As for conversion bits.... I used heads from the Dreamforge panzerjagers. The two issues were A) they're actually a bit too small, and B) they're apparently discontinued for some idiot reason, as I don't see them for sale on the Dreamforge website. If you can find some, the size difference is minor enough that you can overlook it unless that REALLY bothers you. Note that the plasmagun is YUGE because I borrowed it from some Space Marines, so it's not an accurate scale reflection on the other parts of the mini.

I can't find those Dreamforge models anywhere, even second hand. I guess I can scratch that idea.
Machine Gun Kelly, are you sure about statuesque miniatures. There seems to be loads of space marine and guard conversions using their heads and they look ok.

Well... the new necromunda game will go on pre-order the 11th, so good looking female heads from GW might be closer than we think. I haven't seen any good shots of the mini's yet to so they might be a bit over the top. Or you could look into warhammer fantasy Elves: they tend to be pretty femine looking across the board. So they might pass as female guardsmen/scions.

I am pretty sure. I glued a beret statuesque to a Cadian body and had a good laugh at it. It looked like a small Children head on a grown mans body. I´m waiting for the Escher gang as it seems two hairstyles are salvagable.

Nutty, the necromunda thing might be the best bet. Elves won't work I'm afraid, I need female heads with berets and scars.
I can get a sprue of statuesque heads cheap from a friend of mine Machine Gun Kelly, that's why I keep going on about them. He never used them and he's willing to post them to me if I foot the bill.
I live in hope of a day of plastic guardswomen and Sisters of Battle without boobplate. I'm trying to get my sister into warhammer right now and one of the reasons she's not keen is that there doesn't seem to be any proper female models.

Heads are too small. irishbiker; Let me know how the heads work out. If they're too small, I'll see how many of the panzerjager heads I can scrounge up if you want to try them. As an FYI, they only work even somewhat well with Scions. Cadian proportions are just too weird.

Ah, I was kind of replying more to the idea of the sister wanting to find suitable models have you looked on shapeways? depending on what you type in the search bar, seems there's a lot of gas masks and skull heads, not so many females. there is this entry: www.shapeways.com/product/FCK6KUNLR/28mm-elektra-empire-agent-testing?optionId=60605812 though its not the best representation of what can be found on the site. might be worth contacting one of the sculptors and asking a commission? I'd be interested in some Cadian Female heads

I'm going to tell my mate to send me the heads and I'll see what they're like. As long as they're not too cartoonish they should be ok.

The bit about women in the schola joining the sisters and men joining the tempestus was in some books (I think codex tempestus scions 7th?) BUT I distinctly remember female members of the tempestus scions appearing in two novels
1) Hellsreach (although they were still being called stormtroopers and not scions back then in 2010) 2) One of the "THE BEAST ARISES" novels (I believe it is Echoes of the long war)
Given how the Sororitas is a religious institution I guess that not all suitable female candidates of the schola join them (so some might be going into the scions) Hope this helps...

Good enough for me, as soon as I get some female beret heads they'll be joining my scions. Until then I'll just say that some of the helmeted heads are women.
The heads my friend was supposed to send me didn't work out. They were badly cast and I'm convinced they were defective ones he somehow got his hands on.

Did you want me to send you the Panzergrenadier heads? PM me your address if you're interested.

Thanks for the offer but I think the stauesque heads would fit, I just need to get some proper ones. Save them for your army, I appreciate you offering them to me. It wouldn't be practical to send them all the way to Ireland.
