Hi.
I´m going to create some generic scum and do-no-gooders for skirmishing/RPG gaming. I have been scouring the GW range and have two questions.
1: The Genestealer cult and the chaos cultist, how well do they fit together. Have anyone kitbashed those two and if so how did it work out?
2: The Goliath truck seems to be the closest thing we have to a converted civilian truck. This means that if i build it without weapons it could be used as scenery. Would it be easy to build it without weapons or will I have to convert it a lot? I do have some conversion skills but I rather avoid much work if possible.
Thanks in advance for answering.

1. Not very well I'm afraid. The genestealer cultists are a multipart plastic kit (loads of bits in there too), whilst the cultists are 2-3 part pushfits. If you want worn out robey looking guys you'd probably be better of getting Flagellants from the Age of Sigmar range: those are great for converting all sorts of stuff.
2. I've not built the truck but I know a buddy of mine built his and left the turret weapons unglued and it looked all right without IIRC. Not sure if it comes with it's own hatches.

I can cover question #2! There's actually only one true weapons mount on the vehicle, next to the cockpit. It's about 1in/2.54cm wide, so if you can cover that with some plasticard or something and put some kit or bits on it, you should be fine. The other option is to build it with the crane arm. That ends in a mining laser, which technically is a civilian loadout, but you can also glue something else on the end if you want. I went with a megannobz power klaw that turned out pretty well. alternatively, these guys make some 40k-esque vehicles. wargameexclusive.com/product-category/heresy-hunters/They're probably a bit fancier than what you'd find in the hunderhive, unless your scum specialize in stealing cars, but they're pretty neat.

Thanks for quick replies.
Nutty: The tip about flagellants were really good, thanks. I´ll probably use it. Thanks for the update on the vile heretics. Typically Chaos of not managing to be multipart plastics, but rather some lazy mans pushfit toys.
Reds:I´ve got quite a lot left over bits from russes and chimeras so I can probably make something of it. I was thinking a flood light. It would give it that nice "Red neck" utility 4*4 feel. The other cars you linked to will be great. Lousy painting, lots of dirt washes, stains of rust and they will look beaten up. The feeling I am trying to reach are the area where the "underhive" meets the "hive". Beaten down but not broken...yet.

Adding a floodlight to that truck would be pretty neat.
It's a cool little kit, having looked at the pictures again I'm considering getting one to use as.. something. Maybe as a counts-as trojan; it'll make a nice support vehicle for an artillery/armoured company.

And for a extra question.
Would the head of Skitarii Vanguards and Tempestus Scion bodies make a reasonable stand in for Adeptus Arbites? I have only seen Vanguard heads on small photos so I can´t really tell by myself.

Judge for yourself. Scion weapon options and arm selections are a bit limited, but until we have something better, I think it would be okay, especially if you can figure out how to make the hellguns into shotguns.

Thanks Red. The volley gun is probably easy to convert into a shotgun. But perhaps the heads could work on SM scouts, that way there is no need to convert shotguns?

Maybe, it'd be a bit more difficult. Scouts famously have no necks and the notch for where the head rests is a bit forward, it may look awkward. Additionally, the armor of the scouts behind the notch is a bit higher than the notch itself, giving them a slightly hunchback look. This might cause problems since the Vanguard helmets have a slight "tail" to them. You'd either have to have them all looking to the side, looking down a bit, or have them stuck with a slight case of giraffe neck. If you can find the shotgun arms online, see how well they pair with the Scion bodies? Anvil Industry also makes a few different styles of shotguns... anvilindustry.co.uk/Regiments/Weapons/combat-shotgunanvilindustry.co.uk/Regiments/Weapons/trench-shotgun-twoanvilindustry.co.uk/Regiments/Weapons/enforcer-shotgunI don't know how well the arms would pair with scion bodies though.

Is the Vanguard "tail" the same kind of tail that the Scions head have?

See below. It's more pronounced than Scions.
