Need help understanding this:
Heavy Weapon Squad is:
A unit of 3 models Each model has a lasgun & freg grenades. And each model has 2 wounds.
Questions:
1. Does a 'model' represent 2 guardsmen or 1? (i.e. If I shoot lasguns is it 2 or 1)
2. If I equip a squad with 3 mortars 33 points?
3. Each Mortar can shoot at different targets?
4. If a model takes 1 wound can it still fire the mortar with no penalties?
I really haven't used them in the past as I've been a tread head mostly.

1. I wouldn't recommend thinking of it as representing 1 or two guardsmen. Two guardsmen form one model in a voltron-like combination of shells, rockets, or lasers. Regardless, you only shoot one lasgun. Assume the other guy has his hands full with the heavy weapon. 2. Your math is right, but please don't post broken out points costs like that. I've edited your post so GW doesn't get mad at us . 3. That's my understanding. 4. Yes, which is sort of a diss to the loader's actual usefulness beyond being a sherpa when they're moving the weapon, but whatever. Just remember they're still Guardsmen, so they're still squishy and need to be kept in cover. As an FYI, don't get caught up with models on the base, count the bases. 1 base usually equals 1 unit (I'm sure there's an exception to this, given it's 40k, but I can't think of it).

Not only can the mortars fire at different targets, the lasgun guys on the base can also do so. So 3 bases could target up to 6 enemy units.
