Thought I'd start a thread amongst fellow treadheads.
Started a Vanquisher three years ago and have finally managed to get some parts (and motivation) together for it.
The back was a complete mess with some lovely HUGE mouldslip at the back, plus I hate using the trenchrails so had to do a partial rebuild.
Then came the next problem of finding a mantlet for an old Gryphonne IV turret I've had in the bitsbox for around 11 years. Enter Skar84 www.thingiverse.com/Skar84/designs
Primed and ready for base painting
The gun mantlet is from Skar84 and the hunter killer I threw together on Sketchup, then printed them both out on Shapeways.
I just need to basecoat the rest of the muzzle, exhaust shrouds and rubber tires for the spare road wheels before cracking on with the rest of the painting.
Still to build is some field applied extra armour to attach to the I-beam stuck to the sides of the tanks, and to a few other places on the sides, but all of this was to be painted separately anyway
Just because I had them to hand here's a few other turrets that are awaiting a hull each, the Conqueror cannon is a 3d print but I was very impatient and hardly sanded it down, at least the G IV mantlet and hunter killer had a bit of a sand before priming.
And because I'm a hobby butterfly I've also started on a conversion for a Trojan to turn it into a scout tank.
3d printed top plate to attach to the Trojan has been drawn up (just imagine an autocannon Chimera turret on top of it), needs cleaning up a bit and will be ordered next week. Brass etch parts for telescopic antenna masts are on the way from Austrailia and a new soldering iron should be here next week to build all of those parts.
ANNNNNNNND I'm about to start a conversion for another Gryphonne IV Exterminator turret, this one armed with a battle cannon and storm bolter.
Now to source 4 more Mars Alpha hulls.
Glory for the Tallarn 4th Armoured.
