So I got one of each of the Iconic Dawn of War HQ choices... 1 commie, 1 psycher & working of the Priest right now. Wolverine claw sporting company commander? Forget that cliche because who really needs another CC?
But I don't have a Tech Priest & I'm shopping around & you guys can hijack this thread in that direction if you want, but--
When he arrives I want him to be hooked up for reason's that are a trite blasphemous to boast about on Easter Sunday.
To the point, I've got a whole squad of Leman's russ tanks dedicated to this false idol and a Chimera chassis too.
One of the Leman's Russ tanks will be an Atlas, I have one getting simple green washed torn apart & I'm retrofiting the sponson's with Plasma cannon's. I don't even know if this is legal & I don't care honestly. The Atlas I don't think I'm going with a power lift arm. Instead I think a four point cage and chain hoist system would be better suited for the heaviest duty work.
The Trojan I think is better suited for a hydrolic lift arm.
At this point I'm open to suggestions (hopefully with links to bits sites & non GW models ripe for kit bashing goodness)
I'm even open to arguments, anybody think I should go about my construction process differently please suggest a different way to skin these cats.

Have you tried looking at google images to spark some creative juices, even looking through the bits box can help to complete the puzzle? The Atlas is just a recovery vehicle with a heavy bolter, I think it would look weird with two plasma cannons. You could say they're recycling an old russ I suppose. Also, check this location for links. commissar.proboards.com/thread/19278/3rd-party-warhammer-conversion-bits

Yeah, recycling an old Russ. It's for my Mechanicus detachment, they do what they want.
I've been looking through the bits box a lot, some random parts have lended them selves to the project. Even have given consideration to a plasticard investment, but as always I have a need for converting non-GW plastic into a questionably legal standard.
Might need a mo'betta bits pay day.

If your building any kind of cage structure I would recommend getting some polystyreen rod. You could source an even cheaper rod from things like cottonbuds or lollipops, but it's a pain to glue. Then get some cheap jewelry chain from a hobbyshop and that ought to get you most of the way there.
You could also use different widths of polystyreen rod/pipe to make hydraulic supports and/or telescopic crane. It isn't that expensive if you look around and find something other than evergreen; I think most of the stuff I got is less than a buck for a foot. Most smaller gauges are around €1,5 per meter, so you can get some different types to play around with and be set for a long while.
