So this happened today: Some of the pointy eared xenos filth only needed some minor repairs and a bit of primer:

Yes the avatar is in there, I didn't notice he was peeking out. He is accompanied by a nice mix of units. Some squads of aspect warriors (everything except Dark Reapers I think), rangers, bikes, a warlock or two, an old metal wraithlord, warwalkers, and some vehicles.
It should be more than enough to make a small army, and that just happens to be the plan.

Awesome! Make sure you keep us updated, I’d like to see what you do with them. I’ve always had a soft spot for Aspect Warriors.

Bath Time!
What do you use to strip paint in Europe?

I use a cleaning/degreasing agent called Dasty, it works pretty well if you let things soak for a day or two. It won't get spray primer off, but it'll get rid of paint with a bit of brushing.

My original plan was to build an Ulthwé army when I bought these guys. But I can't quite get the black to look the way I want, so I decided to make some slight alterations to the plan: Almost the same thing right?

I do prefer the coloured one over the black (not as easy to do across an entire force but a lot more striking)
Still waiting on the Avatar of Khaine and some Aspect Warriors!

Well I happen to be working on the first 5 Howling Banshees, with a bit of luck they'll be finished tommorrow. They are a lot of fun to paint.

In the first picture, I'm not much help to you, other than I like the Blue over the black.
In the second picture, I love Howling Banshees especially when they're in close combat. The white and red work well togeather, looking forward to seeing them finished.

I might go in and brighten their eyes up a bit more; as they sort of disappear into the facemask from a distance.

Yea maybe a lighter shade of Grey with a tiny white dot, at least I thinky they're grey... or maybe green?
Really good work nutty, the white to red on the blades look smart.
The models look like they're dancing around and killing for fun.

They are green, but the wash turned them a lot darker.

Now the eyes on the infantry still need to be redone, but I got distracted by a Wave Serpent... Not quite finished yet; but the colourscheme on the guardians translates to larger surfaces pretty well IMHO.

Looking great! The Wave Serpent looks good in your colour scheme. Also if you use your own scheme you can use whichever Craftworld you like.
For eyes I usually use Caliban Green, followed by Warpstone glow, with Moot green for the lightest colour, then topped off with a dot of white in the darkest corner.
Still waiting on the Avatar of Khaine😉

For some reason the eldar lenses (especially they guardians) are being a pain in the rear.. it's probably the combination of them being pretty shallow, and quite small. But they always end up like I fingerpainted them.. The avatar will be a ways away still; I have him scheduled to paint as a reward for completing my first 750 points.

The blue looks great on the wave serpent, with the bits of white and red really pops.
Are they Dire Avengers I see in the back ground?

The guys in the background are regular guardians, but the blue/teal gives them a bit of a Dire Avenger vibe. For my actual Dire Avengers I'm planning to use a darker shade of blue; a bit closer to the box art. Which will hopefully look alright next to the guys I have so far.

I understand the psychology of getting things painted! (you need something to treat yourself with!) Looking forward to seeing more progress!

I'm at ~350 points as is, so I still have bit of painting to go, the plan for now (in nonparticular order) is: 1. 10 more guardians to fill out the squad I have. 2. A tank (falcon or fireprism) 3. A 2nd troopchoice (Rangers or Dire Avengers) 4. A FA choice (Vypers or Jetbikes) 5. A farseer That'll get me at 750 and ready to play games (and paint the avatar)

The Eldar are really working out well. The turquoise colour scheme really suits them.
Farseers are fun to paint; it was the only fully painted model I had when I was a nipper.

Sounds a decent bare bones list. I'm sure they'll look great!
Did I mention I'm looking forward to the Avatar?
