Time for another update! This time I have some Tyranid Warriors with Boneswords. I'm changing the tails to match the rest of the body, so they'll be black moving forward. Tyranid Warriors Tyranid Warriors Tyranid Warriors Next up I'll be working on the boy's Space Wolves, I've been a bit selfish and concentrating on the Nids!

I've had a good catch up on your thread, this army is growing nicely.
I love the army shot, they look really impressive Jud, even if I do want to burn them.

I really like the brighter colors on the arm segments, it breaks up the pallet but does it in a very subtle way. Great work!
Are these two armies (nids & wolves) going to have any war trophies from the opposite army on their models as the rivalry goes on?

Cheers lads!
MD, haha! My brother shares your urge to purge by flame!
Borkies, Thanks, I will definitely be adding some bitz here and there when I’m adding the Primaris, not on the mini marines (the bases are just too small!)

I've hit my first milestone for the Wolves... My first Pack!! I went with Blood Claws (I thought it was fitting as they are the younger recruits) I went with the standard colour scheme, I find the yellow and red go really well with the Fang grey. Moving forward I will be adding some Wolfguard Terminators but apart from those I'll be using Primaris. I'm useless at adding decals on Marine shoulder pads so I'll be using the Space Wolf Primaris upgrade kits to save my blushes!!! Here's the pics: Blood Claws Blood Claws Blood Claws Blood Claws Thanks to Major Downer for sending me the Pack Leader!

Thanks nutty! Yeah I think he was an old Wolfguard model. Made form metal. OK, I've been asked by my brother if I would paint an army for him. He saw the Templars I did a while ago and wants me to do something similar for him! It'll be a purely Primaris project to start, I think has the intention of adding sisters of battle (he just loves the medieval religious look of both ranges!) I've done a test model and was hoping for some feedback: Templar Templar Templar Templar Templar As I said, he loves the idea of building a Crusade, with different elements of the Imperium ranges. Some of you may of noticed that he's used both Black Templar and Impeerial Fist iconography. That is intentional his main Inspiration was the Templar Brethren from the Horus Heresy range and he wants to bring that imagery up to present day 40k. He's going to write up some back story for them, I'll post it once it's done. All I know ATM is they're called "The Templars of Dorn" Thanks for looking, I'll update as and when finish stuff!!

So the first one was too Black Templars for an Imperial Fist Successor. I had a play about with the colour scheme to make them look a bit more unique. Here's the results: Templar TemplarTemplar Templar What do you guys think?

Cool stuff; I think the lighter coloured shinguards help make them look a bit more like their own chapter rather than Black Templars.

Looking good! Loving the choice of helmets especially. Speaking of your Templars, are you eyeing the Primaris in the upcoming starter set? Their aesthetic is spot on for Black Templars.

Thanks nutty! That's what we were trying to achieve, they're Crusading space Knights but still not Black Templars! Cheers Reds! The mix of parts will be something throughout the project. Yeah, we're all over the new Indomitus box set!! My other brother does Necrons so it's worked out perfectly!! I've finished the army leader for the Templars of Dorn! He'll be the Grande Master. I used the Tor Garadon model as a base for the kitbash. Plus a Templar Brethren head to add a little more flavour. The aim is still to make every man a hero, with his own added details. Templar Templar Templar Templar Thanks for looking!

Thanks nutty! I've been crazy busy of late so haven't had as much hobby time as I'd like. Finally managed to add this Neurothrope for the swarm: Neurothrope Neurothrope Neurothrope Really please to have been able to add this one to the collection. Next up for the Nids will be an Exocrine!

can I suggest one thing, the blue eye in the hive guard gun - maybe try a test using a grey eye as this will match the eye colour of the rest of your Nids? - was just a small thing I noticed, and might help bind the gun and beast together into a more symbiotic look?

Thanks Treads, funnily enough the blue is the colour I’ve used for all the eyes! The only models without blue eyes are the Hive Guard and Neurothrope!
I’m making good progress on my Exocrine so should have an update soon.

Finished the Exocrine!! Hopefully this beast will help out with some decent firepower (my army is lacking in that department) The swarm is growing slowly but surely. I'm hoping to add 3 more Zoanthropes to form a squad of 5. Buffed by the Neurophrope they should do some work. Won't be ordering any more Tyranids for a week or 2 but will be working on some Templars of Dorn!

Thanks Walk! I'll do a shot of the whole Swarm once I've finished my Zoanthropes brood! I finished the last member of the Templars of Dorn last night, my brother has sourced loads of part to individualise every Marine. I'll be working a lot on these guys as we have a mini tourney coming in November. Templars of Dorn Templars of Dorn Templars of Dorn Templars of Dorn Templars of Dorn Not sure what'll be next as we have to finalise his list and build accordingly! Thanks for looking.
