A friend of mine wants to make a themed army based on the real military. His question is what would go into it, and what doctrines to use. He already has two bassies., and around 60 infantry. Any thoughts would be great.

iron discipline grenadiers stormtroopers special weapon squads sharpshooters
thats for the u.s. army or british army. lots of elite infantry backed up by tanks and for a cool theme he could convert some humvees to be sentinels. maybe a basis on rangers would be good. 3 squads of grenadiers and 1-2 squads of stormtroopers for deep strike, or airborne for fluff. a platoon or two and a heavy weapons platoon and a couple of tanks with 2 bassies for artillery, hummvee support, sniper squads, sounds a lot like the real rangers to me.

Deep striking elite storm troopers and using drop troops on vets could make for a good behind enemy lines things. The vets are lightly armored, which would represent scouts or troops that need to be real mobile, and they have lots of special weapons. Or you can just go for a mechanised army with lots of tanks

creating hardened veterans as the elites, armed with 3 special weapons is heaven and the higher BS of 4 adds an extra punch, like army marines

or you can do an airborne army droptroop, sharpshooter, heavy weapon, caprice, and possibly special weapons.
