My 23rd Expeditionary Element ( 1500 pts) ran into stiff resistance as Aun'gre was on his way to a council meeting. A trap had been set by the Levitican 3rd Heavy Infantry which resulted in the death of Aun'gre, the routing of a fifth of his men and the rest were decimated by the Imperial onslaught.
I had terrible luck with most of my attacks in this, and it was my first real game with Tau and first time playing a large scale game under the newer rules so i was still getting used to them. My friend ( captainben, IG Levitican 3rd) used a custom made Thudd gun to great effect and an armored push on one flank destroyed most of my troops. One Junior Officer with an Honorifica Imperialis was his MVP of the game haha, as he single-handedly took out most of a Fire Warrior squad in closecombat with his Powerfist. I did not have an MVP really, but I did ok with 2 squads... one Fire Warrior squad killed a command section except his officer so he then killed my squad alone haha... and my Crisis suits missile podded and then assualted a squad of disemmbarked Stormtroopers... they in the end made them run, but when the Aun died, my remaining Crisis ran off the battlefield, as well as my lone Broadside. It was a pretty crazy battle.. the kroot never made it to close combat as they were pinned by the Thudd, and then toasted by the Hellhound. Though the Crisis faired well and even though the Fire Warrior squad killed by one Junior Officer... I felt they did as good as they could against him. All in all it was a fair game, with just some poor dice rolling (on both sides of the table) and some poor strategy on my part... along with a bit of inexpierence haha
