Very nice mate.. the dried puddles of ink on the tanks really give it that weathered look.. looking good mate.. looking very good... and hee hee your still 3rd... come on guys the judge is painting more then the rest of you here.. lets get to it.. sometime this week a showdown will be called.. everyone needs to hussle here....

hey, if 'the judge' wins it just means he doesn't have to go buy $20-$30 in blisters and mail them to another continent!  there's perks for us all in this heh. Immuna make you earn it! (though gris, I have to admit that you and .found! are making me work just to keep my head above water). I wish I knew how to take pics that didn't come out so washed out with my camera - alot of the lighter tones like the flesh tones aren't really showing well at all - the actual model is alot warmer than the pics make it look. |

do you have a macro function on the camera? also do you have photoshop? both can make the pictures look better..
Take the picture in daylight though with the sun behind you.. once taken, open it in photoshop.. and auto everything on it.. contrast, levels, and colors.. will look more real towhat it looks like in real life instead of washed out as you say..
give it a shot and see what happens..

Ok NG BSB finished... little darker for some reason on the pictures.. must have gotten a cloud or something when taking it.. the model didnt turn out as well as I had hoped due to the primer.. made the paint have issues going on.. so the skin came out weird.. but he is done none the less..   So yeah.. thats it for me this weekend it seems.. maybe if I get lucky I might have time tonight to begin work on an actual unit instead of heros and characters  Though they are more fun to paint overall though Cheers Gris |

Immuna give you 1.95 for this one gris. 1.2 for the model (considering him a medium base model due to the extra work in the standard) +.75 for quality (there were a few things that didn't look like they got any paint on the back of the standard and like the sword at his hip n' stuff; plus the model was fairly simple (standard excluded).

sounds good to me mate.. spending my time right now adding magnets to the bottom of more of my models.. am having massive issues when gaming with them.. then will base them all and prime them.. then the mass painting portion of this competition shall begin Cheers Gris |

 here's a closeup of my new chimera:  I realize I need to do the dozer blade on it so yeah. it went from partial paint (only green) to fully done, so I'm gonna claim 2.5pts with another .5 left to claim for finishing the dozer blade. |

alright, chaos biker, something i did while the paintoff was in signup phase, pretty crappy.  hehe 1 of the 2 of my converted grots i decided to do and paint lol  karskin, I am quite fond of him because I tried out lighting effects on the control panel (*everyone cowers in fear of my bad lighting effects*) and tried highlighting black and blending white  damnit! I thought i uploaded my karskin searge to photobucket but I didnt and i deleted it off my camera and hard drive, will take photos next time i paint more stuff. |

k more work done on my part - gotta get within striking distance before this showdown hits here's the dozer blade added onto my chimera for .5pts then 3 fully painted grenadiers for 4.5 (3 for 3 infantry models + .5 ea in quality (1.5 quality total)).  |

Ok boys and girls.. going to attempt to get 5 NG spearmen done tonight which will tip me over the 50 points to call the first showdown.. hope you all have a bunch of half done models completed and ready to throw down in the next 7 days..
Will post late tonight ( like 12 hrs from now ) with 5 finished NG Spearmen..

eff you grisnik hehe jk jk paint it up man!! by the way gris, I don't see doling out a full 1pt quality bonus on night goblins as something that'll be common - the models are small to begin with so you're already almost lucky getting 1pt a model but an infantry model is an infantry model. I'm gonna hit you to a digree on the quality however unless you do really nice work on them. just letting you know so you can project correctly. so far the work you've done is really sweet but I know line troops tend to get a bit less love put into them. anyway, I'll be interested to see what you come with! |

hmm, well when the showdown happens im gonna paint up my night goblins, much to grisniks disgust, the (*cowers in fear everyone*) black robe normal ones lol, cos I can paint alot quickly.

hee hee its ok TB.. tbh the quality scores I have been receiving are over and above what I am expecting in the first place.. I paint for the models themselves.. not for the quality points.. so everything on them to that effect is a bonus.. and your right.. they dont get as much love as the characters.. except the command.. except I have enough command models done up.. so it will be 5 normal spearmen being done up.. maybe more but will depend on how long the first 5 take me.. straight black.. i think not.. black bottom robes, light ghastly blue/white hoodies, and copper weapons are the mainstay..
Cheers for the heads up mate all the same.. shows that there is no favortisim here.. that and lets see who steps up to the challenge.. though I hope there are a lot.. I counted up 104 goblins that need attention after getting magnets to their butts.. so they are on my current "To Do" list atm..

Well, these guys have been sitting on my shelf for months now and over the weekend i finally decided to paint them. The commissar has a simple converision taking off the flamer, and replaced with a bolt pistol. 6.3 total for you knight .FOUND!. that's 1 per model but 1.2 on the standard bearer and 1.1 on the commissar due to he weapon swap. knight: don't give up bud! you never know, I may pull an act of god on ya and give you extra time to make the paintoff if you're really showing progress and are charging hard at the point total - think of it like instant death - the day you relent and dont post pics of new painted minis is the day you're defeated - something like that |
