well since this is relatively uncompetitive at this point, feel free to pull up a chair. post your initial army pic to show everything you've got painted (in the freak chance that you come from behind to take down grisnik and win) and then I'll start clocking you some points.
who knows, I might have runner up prizes
*wanders off whistling innocently*
grisnik: I'm gonna give you a full point for the conversion bonus so 2.6 credited for this guy.

gonna call this one a walker sized model (3pts). +.75 for quality & +.85 for assembly (.7 + .15 extra due to alot of greenstuffing to make the models torso fit with no gaps (which were really major and really a requirement to do). thats 4.6 for this baddy then!

LOL TB.. love the incentive to keep everyone going..
Nice model as well there.. those are beautiful sculpts but I also hear you on the fact that they are terrible to put together.. have heard there can be some serious gap issues but little to no flash on the models which is a nice plus.
How many more models do you have for that army?
Also I have begun my 2 catchers.. 1 will be doing a diving catch.. the hands are going to be a bugger to do up so that should take me a while, and the other is going to look like he is making a nice dodge to the left.. so far the legs and torso are together, and I have gs'd the jersey to them.. these guys will get a bit more freehand on the jersey since they have less armor they will just have their jersey's.. so no bulky padding on them.. maybe small elbow and a knee pad..
Will post pics when I get them completed later this week..
Cheers Gris

just the 2 models so far, but I'm gonna get another one today. I can start playing when I have 2 warjacks and a warcaster (3 whole models ). that's what I'm gonna try and focus on for now, then once I've got those done I'll go back to my cavalry project.

Got a bit more work on the 2 catchers.. their legs and torsos are complete.. just need to begin to find the perfect arms for them.. also received my beastmen herd boxset in the mail yesterday and began to make my first 4 ungor linemen for my Beasts Football team.. small GS work so far on the torsos, couple of leg repositions, and wednesday I will work on throwing arms on all the models on my work table.. get them that much closer to being painted hopefully by next week TB I had a look at the priveteer press guys for warmachines.. I am really tempted now to pick up protectorates now.. their characters have a lot of detail and look great.. once I complete these football teams I am probably going to pick up some of them to paint up as well.. Come on Knight.. you know you want back in on this.. you can juggle school, work and painting over a week.. would love to see more of our work completed Cheers Gris

protectorate are pretty cool - they have some neat flame technology that sets models on fire when you hit 'em and stuff. I haven't really looked at their rules much as I'm reading up on the basic game rules and trying to figure out what khador stuff I want to take. the nice thing is that you can get into the game and start playing for about $60usd.

I have absolutely no idea about the rules for them but they look cool so they must therefore by extension be cool Plus I would love a chance to do more white models.. it is something that I am horrible at and well this can give me a shot at trying it and being interesting still.. Also it is not that cheap to start over here.. cause 60 USD is like 75 YTL.. and then there is shipping.. and customs.. oh well.. didn't get into this hobby cause it was cheap now did I? Anyways post more pics here people.. I want to see painting greatness.. Cheers Gris

I see the problem in the work. I work around 300km away from my apartment and won't get back over the weekends that often. Only option would be to take some minis and some essential colours with me...
But in October I'd be back at 100%. If you could take it slow for that time and could call no showdown...
And Warmachines is really nice. I think I have just fallen in love with the Kingdom of Cyngar...

This is the current state of my IG army. Some of it is not yet assembled, I will post pics of those as soon as it's fixed... I'm working on my HW teams at the moment. I think I will have one ready by tomorrow...

the image is a broken link, you might try doublechecking it to make sure it's pointing to a valid pic file

Fresh blooooooooddddd.... Nice startings of an army mate.. very nice indeed.. cant wait to see some of it painted up and posted here.. Got the arms on the ungor and catchers last night.. have to do a bit of repositioning to them for the catchers and then I can begin to do the hands on the 6 models.. not sure how many require new digits but will see.. should also be able to get the shoulder pads done tonight as well.. if I get a chance I will post pics of them in the conversion thread as a prologue to the finished product.. Glad we have new blood here.. might begin to get interesting again Gris

Very nice looking mate.. very clean looking.. might want to hit it with a bit of brown/black ink mix on the whites there to show a bit more definitions but definately looks great none the less.. Welcome to the competition officially.. now lets see if you can catch up and keep up with me Cheers Gris

how bout 2.75 for that minus? 2 for 2 individual infantry sized models, figure .5 for the gun and a .25pt bonus for quality (crisp clean solid strong paint job, which, by the way, is the absolute foundation to masterful painting. all other advanced painting techniques depend on being able to paint a model just like you have there - you're going places sir!).

Well get cracken mate.. lets see you roll out that army in a nice orderly fashion and begin to rack up the points here.. make Knight work for it so when he returns we can be sitting at 200+ points and he has a task and a half to catch up to us Cheers Gris

you're gonna scare the man, gris! come now. 5pts at a time heh. here's a Grundback Gunner from warmachine; it's a mercenary 'jack and is a little guy with a pretty solid gun. these guys get wrecked alot because they have very few hitpoints but they have a really solid armor rating. I'm going all artistic with my models since an army is less models in warmachine, so I wanted to give it that hardcore merc feel. I wanted to convey that this little guy has been shot at every which way but loose and alot of those attacks have even landed! this guy has probably been wrecked and rebuilt a few times and there's evidence that he's even been repainted from the factory fresh olive drab to white for high altitude snow fighting. anyhow, here he is: Grundback Gunner: I'm gonna claim 1pt for size because he's not much bigger than an infantry model. I'm gonna skip assembly, he was cake to put together, just had to slap on the legs and feet. for quality I'm gonna max it at 1pt because this guy took me literally all night. what you see is only the final paint on him (and the pic absolutely sucks, he looks way cooler in person!). I started by painting him metal, just like he was built. then I painted on some rust and put crushed rocksalt in places. then after that dried, I slapped on the 'factory primer' and let that dry. then I brushed off the rocksalt and got AWESOME weathering effects. looked like paint chipped and rust spots all over, but I didn't like the color of the rust so I painted the un-rusted spots olive drab, (I'm using glazes for blending smoothness (note the gun looks pretty good shading wise and the metals have a good variation in color - the white was harder to shade but it has alot of depth, especially in person). anyway yeah, after I put the olive drab on (catachan green) then I took a step back and was like 'Ok. this guy has been torn to shreds in my mercenary company! he's all rusted with big chunks of paint missing and dents and scratches all over his armor from being shot and stabbed and clawed, he needs a repaint for the winter climate (cuz I want my army to be a winter themed army). at that point I totally redid the paint and built up the white till it was solid - then I added the battle damage back in and used the catachan green to reflect the underlaying layer of paint that's visible when you scratch the 'jacks paint down to the bare metal. I really like the effect and am really happy with how it turned out. he still looks like a war-torn little warjack but that's the feel I want with my mercenary company - barely surviving, unable to replace armor plates with new ones, and totally struggling to survive in the wars of the Iron Kingdoms. anyway, hope you all dig the model that rocked me up the leaderboards with a whole 2pt gain hehe.

Nice work TB.. maybe I will need to wait till you begin to get close and then begin to drop 10 models a day for 10 days.. and let you try to catch up again JK.. dont have the time at the moment to paint in bulk.. plus am having fun learning more about sculpting different aspects of my beasts and human bloodbowl teams.. Once I get around to it then I will get them painted up and post them here.. will be a nice shot in the arm per model there.. Also am looking at ordering some Menoths.. just waiting for comfirmation on the price of shipping for me.. since you cant find them or any real models in Turkey as it is.. I have to order everything from Europe in order to get them.. which sucks but what can you do eh?? :S Cheers Gris
