I'm buying a baneblade and planing to paint it to go with my lich purple army but all my friends think that such a cool tank should be painted well.... Cool ! the tank will be painted mostly 50/50 Chaos black and liech purple to keep it purple but not make it too light. Can anyone give some pointers? I'm also uneasy for how good the baneblade could be. I mean how much Armour could it have? Will its size be just to much for my usually compact battles? And what of city fights? Anything will be helpful ;D Hopefully I will update next week with good news

according to FW rules, you need at least 2,000+ pts to field it, but i'm not sure about Apocalypse sized battles.
The baneblade is a GOOD tank. It's basically a better-armed and armoured leman russ with wounds. It'll soak up as much fire as it dishes out. also realize, though! nothing of that size NEVER EVER EVER earns its points back. It's a big fire magnet, but that's okay. when the enemy is focusing on that behemoth, your d00ds can go capture objectives 'n' stuff.

I have differ on the point that something like this doesn't buy back it's points. On sunday we had big game at the local store. the tau player decided to pull a redeployment. I had 5 devilfish in my deployment zone. I had a HellHammer and a bane Blade. As soon as it was my turn I turned the thing around and the hell Hammer wasted two of the devilFish with one shot, The lascannon's took out the another one, and my Lascannon team took out a fourth. the Tau player was not a happy camper. I still had a lot of firewarriors, but my reinforcements from other players were arriving and took them out.
It wasn't until the fourth turn that the tau Player started to get smart and finally decided he had enough from my bassi. the Poor clueless took several shots from seeker missiles before finally succumbing to the incoming strikes. I survived that round with only an immobilization, but when it comes to the bassi, who really cares if it becomes immobilized on a glance?
The store we had been playing at was calling in orbital strikes against the other stores in the state. We hit one store so hard with the orbital strikes and incoming strikes from one of our Objectives that their game ended on round 4. I can only imagine the look on the guys face as the techpriest was running across field, to fix their baneBlade that we immobilised on the last round of fire, became nothing more that a red vapor mist.

I'd like to see a Tech. Mechanicus Baneblade, that what I was considering doing for my own, well when I get one!
Just use plenty of deep reds and crimson shades and plenty of Aderptus Mechanicus iconography.

I plan on making an IQ Baneblade, covered in Inquisitorial markings and coolness! With an inquisitor lord in the cupola!

Ya! I bought the bane blade but I was kinda sad. I mean its big but www.warhammer.com made it seem alot bigger Compared to any tank its big compared to any model its big but I rest on my opinion that it could be a bit bigger. I have decided to paint it black and then dry brush it Liech Purple so it just glistens.
