only have one qualm with this list... the paint scheme, unless you are doing gulf war era marines they would not have the chocolate chip armor anymore, now if you were doing an early "war on terror scheme" (2002-2005) they would have the three color desert camo with the woodland flak jacket and helmet, now if you are doing a later war on terror (2006-200?) then they would have tan flak jackets with digital camoflage uniform and helmet... not trying to be obnoxious, just trying to be informative, iwas in the corps from 2002-2006

Semper Fi, jeremy. GySgt(ret.), 1983-2004.
I am not painting these as Gulf War, neither as War on Terror (early or late.) I am painting them as a unit I was actually with when we went into Somalia in 1995: BLT 3/1, 13th MEU(SOC.) For that deployment our Bn had been issued tri-color uniforms and choco-chip flack & helment covers. Many of the MEU HQ actually still had all-choco chip uniforms; it had not been completely phased out yet. So I decided to do them all choco chip.

11/06/07 - Seven Melta gunners, six Plasma gunners and two Officer figures were trimmed, mold lines removed, put on their bases and base painted in US Army/Marines Gulf Armor Sand. I dug into the bitz box and created my Long Range Scanner representation. Using a 60mm base, IG flamer fuel tank, searchlight & missile rail, Space Marine radar dish and lower sensor from a Landspeeder, and one piece from the Apocalypse Accessory sprue. Cut off the left hand of the Medic from the Cadian Command set (holding the blood/plasma bag), and replaced it with a Sentinel pilots hand. Tossed an IG utility box for dressing, and its ready for paint. Will post pic.

First unit of Kasrkins are done, flocked and sealed, starting on the second set and all the Cadian Officers & Melta/Plasma Assault Weapon guys. Picture taking is in hiatus - interfacing problems - my camera and 'puter seem to not be on speaking terms anymore...

I just love the way you've painted your army and also the organisation you plan to use. The choc-chip pattern is really nice and i can't wait to see how you paint the tanks up

All heavy weapons are based and partial paint. 70 troops based (base, leg, torso & partial paint.... that is a LOT of flash trimming and still not done.)
We got a new camera - getting to know the ins & outs, should be able to post pics of progress this week. Barely touched Chimera's, Russes, Sentinels, will be doing different thread w/tutorial on the Basilisk converted into towed arty.

OK, time for an update. I've got all the infantry trimmed (chest & helmet insignia gone), the heads, legs and torso's are glued together, they are all base painted in US Army & Marines Tan, with the boots and bases in Dark Tan. I am painting the arms seperately because I find it more difficult to reach details when arms are attached and areas are blocked off by them. About 80% of the Heavy Weapons teams (maybe 27 or so of them, all weapons types because I like to have choices) are done up the same. I varied the poses and used many standing figs so the infantry platoons will have some kneeling guys mixed in. Those guys I did get a little ahead of myself, and most of them have their arms already on... I've been concentrating on getting four Kasrkin platoon's and all the metal Officers and Guardsmen Melta/Plasma gunners painted up, with one Kasrkin plt fully done (the one's you've seen pics of before, and more here), and three others plt's in various stages, but all are at least base painted in Tan with Bleached Bone and the Dark Tan base & boots, some of them are just waiting for the salt/pepper camo treatment and them on to the small details. Parallelling these, I've done some conversions with Kasrkin Vet Sgt's for my Daemonhunters, one w/Powerfist, one w/Lightning Claws, and one planned w/Thunderhammer & Shield. The Shield is scrap from my work (I am a Buyer for a mfgr, and we buy tons of sheet metal - *literally*.) They are pictured. Armor currently consists of seven Chimera's, six Russes (five of them pictured), and ten Sentinels. Three of the Chimera's I converted the turrets into twin-linked Heavy Bolter turrets, all five of the Russes I made into Heavy Bolter-all around versions, and with both vehicles, the plan is ot have magnetized dozer blades so I can opt for Rough Terrain or not. One of each are already done and pictured, gonna do more tonight. The six MultiLaser Sentinels are all magnetized, I am doing the Heavy Flamer and Chainsaw magnetizing tonight also so I can swap weapons between them. The one Russ not pictured is not assembled yet, but I got the FW Ryza Plasma Executioner turret for it and it will be that version. Pic of some of the WIP metal stuff... Some more pics of Stromtroopers done... Armor The Converted Kasrkin Vet Sgt's

Had a hold up and was not able to magnatize the Heavy Flamers until tonite.
So, of the Sentinels...
4 are dedicated Lascannon 4 can be swapped between MultiLaser and Heavy Flamer and CC weapon. 1 is dedicated Multilaser 1 can swap between Multilaser and MultiMelta (which is a FW Sentinel allowable under ForgeWorld rules)
Our gaming group is real flexible in that if you bought the FW book and did a reasonable conversion, we allow it.
