I was gonna say airfield, but then someone suggested a dock with scuttled, rusting ships. I no longer have any doubt in my mind. A dock would be AMAZING!!! Great table, by the way.

Thanks for all feedback, suggestions and kind words. Sorry for not posting any pics of my next board yet - but adding finishing touches to this board is taking ages. As you can see, even the Govenor is inspecting the WIP paintjob on the houses: Obviously the Adeptus Arbites will have a strong presence: Also I am building/painting Imperial Flyers: ... for my next board (which will be an alien infested and overgrown spaceport/helipad/airstrip). /Magnus

wowwwwwwwww I hate to be a broken record... but that is AMAZING! I'm doing a cityfight board right now, and this has gotten me inspired to go work on it right now!
well.. not really... haha but still those are some amazing boards!
But to answer your original question, I would do an airport, but thats just my opinion
EDIT: whoops didn't see all 3 pages, I thought it only had 1 page... I guess i'll have to go back and read the other pages! Sorry

WOW!!! those boards are soo awesome! nice job man! I'm starting to build a board at the moment (got the wooden frame done and texturing it) could you please add some more tutorials on how you did some of your stuff cos I noticed you didn't use much of the cities of death buildings (I'm planning on buying some of them) once again great job! and for your question about your next board, maybe a city/hive world that has been abandoned and now its overgrown (weeds, vines etc) and maybe have like an abandoned promethium/power/guns/whatever station/factory in the middle of it (or on the side lol ) and the storyline could be that orks or some other race want to use the factory and the imperium have to save it. Just my idea

Well, I'm going to add compliment to praise. AMAZING!!! That out of the way... Freakin' AMAZING... really, its out of the way now... wow... Just an idea. but what about a ruined Roman Coliseum type building. I know the 41st millineum isn't really the place for fun and games but I feal a gladiator type areana could pass. Always just thought that would be cool. You could even have it convereted into a makeshift landing pad. If anybody could make that look sweet it'd be you. Again. AMAZING.

thats not a bad idea, maybe (if you wanted) you could make that but orkify it into an ork fighting pit maybe??? or maybe a place where (like the romans) the inquisition fought xenos in a controlled environment for sport and research, until it went wrong (use your imagination: xenos took over and ruined the colliseum, etc... something like that) I know my ideas are pretty lame, but oh well.

I'm building a cityfight board... it's not as detailed, but there is definitely a lot of vertical terrain in mine... nothing like kendoka's, but it's cool.

Magnus, this is fantastic work, I am so envious. Your eye for detail is only matched by the superb balance you create across your city, it is truly breathtaking. TB's right you should contact White Dwarf, but to be fair you are way beyond WD/GW standards and edging significantly into the "bigatures" range of LoTR film quality. I would also definitely contact the editors for firebase mag at Warseer: warseer.com/firebasemag as you'd get multiple articles published in Firebase no problem. The article on building a building was brilliant - I'm checking out these Hirst molds now... Are their any particular mold sets you'd recommend for Imperial Cities? Do you have any tips on mixing plaster and casting? Can't wait to see what you do with the overgrown spaceport, although my vote with the harbour for the ultimate battleground. Operation Chariots attack by British Commandos on St Nazaire would be my vote, check out en.wikipedia.org/wiki/St._Nazaire_Raid for an awesome map showing amazing possibilities as a board. I am gobsmacked by the quality, ingenuity and creativity on display here. "Great work" just doesn't cut it - this is sublime and it's an honour to be privy to your work. Step back lads - Jedi Master in the house!
