As the original guide grew too big (over 25,000 characters I will continue here!
The Jumael I 'Lucky Aces'
These guys can be made using Catachan heads, legs and torsos (ONLY the ones with vests) and Cadian arms. Get rid of the shoulder pads woth a hobby knife and carefully fix the shoulder with Green Stuff. If you feel up for it, you can convert the headbands into goggles. Now dive into your bits box and find lots of grenades, pouches and stuff to cover these guys with.
Any human heads will actually do with these guys as long as they are helmetless. The 'Lucky Ace' depicted in the 3rd ed IG Codex could be made using a zombie head!
-Colour scemes: Brown, green or tan colours. Remember to use the ace-of-spades symbol a lot on these guys.
(Doctrines: Mechanised, Veterans, Special Weapon Squads, Ratling Squads, Priests)
The Vervun Guard
A good way to go with these guys is to use minis from the Praetorian Guard. Get hold of the Chaos vehicle sprue as well. First, using green stuff, 'build' out their coats to make a double-breasted look (kinda like the Pyran Dragoons above). File down the helmet slightly and VERY carefully drill a hole down the middle of the helmet. Now pin a spike from the Chaos Sprue onto the helmet. If you are up for it, you can lenghten the coat a bit using green stuff. Vervun officers can be made in a similar way, only using Mordian minis. Make the coat as described above and 'peak' their caps to make them look more important. Alternatively, you can convert some commissars into officers.
-Colour schemes: Blue longcoats, black boots and grey belts and equipment. Paint their helmets and weapons deep black.
(Doctrines: Independent Commissars, Die Hards, Close Order Drill, Conscript Platoons, Heavy Weapon Platoons)
The Vitrian Dragoons
These guys take a lot of work. The best way to make them would be to use Cadians as a base. 'Scrape away' the creases and folds in their fatiques to make the uniforms more form-fitting. Next, get rid of the 'coaty' bit on their legs. Get rid of the Imperial Eagle on the helmet and the shoulder pads. Now lay a thin layer of green stuff across the chest, back, forearms and shins. Build the helmet down with green stuff so that it covers the face. Let the green stuff settle for about half an hour and then carefully cut a vision slit in the helmet. Next cut diagonal lines across the green stuff layers in a criss-cross pattern so you have a pattern of diamonds.
-Colour schemes: Paint the non-diamond area in flat black. The diamond area is then painted silver with a light wash of blue ink. Weapons and helmet are black. A good effect would be to paint gloss varnish on the weapons, armour and helmet.
(Doctrines: Carapace Armour, Storm Troopers Squads, Special Weapon Squads, Heavy Weapon Platoons, Die Hards)
