1. Collect a bunch of the carbine lasguns (can't remember what sprue they're on.)
2. Make a butt-ton of money and buy Elysian Drop Troops from Forgeworld.
3. Model them yourself.

That looks mighty pretty.
Get it to where you can churn them out and you'll have a drop troop army in no time.

since you made the work nothing within the rules of GW says you can not just make a mold of them and cast them for your own use. People just get into the problem of making money off of them and that is when they get caught.

You could try this. I clipped the barrel off my lasguns (leaving the sight at the bottom) so they look like the Pulse rifles from aliens. Its not alot, but it changes the whole look of the guns.

And on the cadian lasrifles, the bayonet mounts under the body of the rifle and does not slide over the barrel. ;D

Yes, the cadian lasrifle has a bayonet guide under what appears to be the suppressor. Google-fu some pictures showing where and how real rifles & bayonets mate up, all have at least two points of contact for locking/stabilization. That nub/stud under the barrel housing IS the bayonet stud for locking it in place.
Think like a weapons development engineer. Does it make sense to have only one locking point? And at that, to have it at the midpoint of the bayonet? How would that work in a slashing action against a resisting opponent? How likely would it snap off with application of combat force? You'd have to have at least two points of contact to get the stability needed for that Guardsman to be able to do his job.
Or think the other way... does it make sense to have a "sight" on the underside of a weapon?

MADNESS!!!! J/K And as for a sight, I have seen many many laser sighters on the bottom of rifles/pistols/etc. Anyway, it was a point of refrence for where to make the snip si as you dont make it flush to the body of the lasgun, that all. EDIT: Maybe this will help explain what I am sayin The idea for the drop troop lasgun img.photobucket.com/albums/v477/ironmani/pulserifle.jpgand where there was confusion over what i was talking about (On my part most likely ) img.photobucket.com/albums/v477/ironmani/riflepic.jpgNote these are NOT my models. I did not paint them. They were a pic I used of the net to explain what I ment
